Although fuck wearing any of those old white dude NB runners. Mephisto all the way. (Note: I don’t have any Mephistos but I want some)
I’m probably missing something but these look even more “the nice comfy shoes my Gerald likes to wear on a long coach trip to a National Trust house” than the NB range

I reckon a 40yr old wouldwear them for comfort - colour scheme permitting.
The idea of wearing cons or old skool vans seems madness to me.
I’m closer to 50 than 40 though.

Yeah, wearing old skool Vans comes with too many preconceptions, even from normies. But Converse All Stars are ageless and omnipresent. You’ve just got to swap out the insoles for Scholl planter fascitis ones.

Ive been wearing old skools for as long as I remember… I have like 3 different outfits that I wear ever. One pair of trousers looks good with old skools. The other with Chuck Ts, other with air max 1. Have a bunch of different NBs and Adidas spezials etc that I never wear.
I’m so weird about shoes, if I switch to another style I feel like everyone is looking at my feet all day and it feels wrong.
I agree the old skools got ruined though. I might swap to black sk8 his or half cabs but then what do I do with the converse…
My mother in law was here about an hour ago, she wears old skools

I’m talking original soles.
But yeah, if you put comfy insoles in, you could wear anything.
Always dreamed of owning a pair. First proper job and paycheck I treated myself. Had s couple of pairs and found they were not worth it. Tread in the forefoot wore down faster than vans waffle and really didn’t think the big air pocket added much.
I hankered after some for ages after Jimo posted his but some came in the post and size 8 were more like 10s so I eventually tried some on in the shop in London and felt that they’d ruin my heels so didn’t end up buying any.
Been alternating 3 pairs of Ipath Cats and NB epics with some accel slim breathy shoes with shorts.
This is a good/fun/nerdy watch.

I’ve tried switching things up lately but I keep coming back to Stan Smiths. If they still made the ADV vulc version I’d live in them.
They kinda remind me of those Ellington shoes with the Chinese company too.
Intriguing, but probably not.

I want to quote ghostface waxing lyrical about blue and cream wallabies or in this case violet and gum sneakers, but instead I ask my 8 yr old daughter if she likes them and she says yes.
