Shoes

I actually quite like that recent Vans AVE shoe, but there’s no way I’m buying it because it costs so much and I go through a pair of shoes about once a year these days and already have a couple pairs backed up

Yeah, Tyshawn shoe was nice, but not as much hype as I was expecting. Never seen anyone wearing them (in Estonia!)

I haven’t even worn the suede outdoors but been wearing the leather ones pretty often. Such a difference between the two.

Not seen anyone wearing the Tyshawn’s either, the sole looks slightly big on them to me but other than they just look like a basic mid top with some fairly exposed laces. I’d happily give them a go if they were massively reduced though.

Anyone getting the Poets Bruins?

Those look good in theory, but on feet they look like the sole has worn down.

You must be looking at something else. Definitely not exposed laces.

Look perfectly placed to be ripped to me.

The regular ones have flat laces. And if you’re sizing down so you can have them laced as loose as that, it’s up to you…

Would like to see a burgandy Tyshawn, same colourway as the Busenitz.

Don’t think I’ve had a leather shoe in 15 years…

Leather shoes to skate in don’t work for me at all, just slips and doesn’t grip for any flickery. Suede or some kind of high tech rubber coating for me thanks

Did anyone see the footage he put out for this? Style still faultless but come on man, put a bit of effort in

The really soft leather on dunks really works.

Yeah. Any smooth leather is shit for skating though.

Black leather with white sole is my favourite colorway. It’s a pretty rare one though. I actually dreamt that Vans released a special series (Half Cabs, Crockett 2s and something else) like this a couple nights ago. Don’t think I’ve ever had dreams about skate shoes before, haha.

I’d love to skate a pair of these but have to stick to Vans Pros because of my custom orthotic insoles.

Good for golf.

Why do golf shoes have lace protectors? Golf seems like one of the absolute last activities where exposed laces would be a problem.

I’ll pass

and yet you see loads of skate shoes without lace protection :man_shrugging:

Oof those a grim.
