'Skatewives' Ender review

For those of you go on Slap, this isn’t news but for those who don’t (and haven’t seen it already): here’s some Zeitgeist 2024 YT content.

To quote Madam, I’m Adam on Slap:

"This is skateboarding in 2024.

I’m not complaining or talking shit, it’s just surreal to be presented with content like this, which is so unlike anything I grew up with after 24 years of consuming skate media."

Haven’t watched this but I did get a laught out of the skate wives instagram account.

Skating has come up through the generations so it’s totally accepted and expected by a swathe of people who would have been clueless a decade ago.
It also shows how multifaceted the culture is. And a lot more inclusive.

It made me feel REALLY old.

It makes sense we’re here, still find it weird non skaters giving the slightest feck about skateboarding though. Found these 2 kind of smug and annoying but i didn’t watch much

It seems to be a bit of a trend on YT at the moment, getting the other half involved in something you love but they have no interest in. Photographers are all doing it at the moment too with getting their Mrs to guess the cost of their gear.

Now you say that you might be right. I’ve noticed a few other halves popping up in vlogs.

It’s weirdly addictive to watch someone experience something for the first time, Music esepcially, but I doubt most of them are genuine anymore.

“Hmm, probably about a hundred quid?”

“Err… Yes, actually! Hundred quid. Yep. That’s it. That’s all”.

I know right? Haha. Would I bollocks be telling my other half, if I’d dropped £12,700 on a Hasselblad X2D! Very brave of them.

I’ve snuck so many synths and drum machines past my Ex Wife over the years.
“I don’t recognise that one!” “that one? you took me to pick that up from a guy in Luton, do you not remember?”

Same with shoes and jumpers. “These? Nah, I’ve had them for ages, I just don’t wear them much. You said that last time I wore them!”
