Not sure what you mean? It’s become much bigger than it was, and sponsors seem to care more than anyone, but I still think it’s the nearest thing skateboarding has to some sort of ‘official’ recognition for being very good.
It’s become a reward for the thirstiest skater. It should be renamed ‘Try-Hard Of The Year’ THOTY.

Watched Tom Schaar’s part last night, head is telling me he has to win, heart is still saying TJ. But if Gabbers sneaked it, I’d be equally stoked.

Nobody I really like is in the running so not fussed this year. Would like to see Joslin drop a banger and win it though. Maybe it’s too late?
I think a bunch of parts will drop this week, and the announcement might be next weekend. Expecting Joslin, Antonio and possibly Zion to put stuff out. Rumours of another TJ part as well maybe?

I clicked on some of contenders names tagged at the end to see what thrasher content they had each appeared in. Schaar, Durao and TJ have the strongest content in my opinion meaning tour articles, solo parts and events.
Looks like thrasher have fucked this one up judging on the insta they just put out with the contender - Zion, Curren, Diego Todd, T Funk and some other guy. Unless they’re doing more instas
