Will pop up a photo when I get in there, it’s nothing fancy at all just a decent sized building with a big door, 3 phase and no neighbours. I am going to finally build a forge though which will be loads of fun
I’d love a forge. I really want to make kitchen knives
Where is it @niallc?
I’ve got an lpg powered casting furnace so may just adapt that. If you’re ever in the area pop round and we will try it out. I’ve got a big leaf spring I found on lyme regis beach years ago tucked away for that very purpose.
between here and Faringdon, which has a pretty fun looking little park by the way
My favourite ever modern skatepark
I would love to mate. I’ve been following IG knife makers for a while and know exactly what I’d want to do…
I had access to a forge growing up. CMOAC.
One of my first jobs was putting points on what looked like heavy duty tent pegs for thatching hooks. My dad said he’d pay me 10p for each one.
It took me about 40 minutes and a million bashes with the hammer to make the first one with my scrawny teenager arms.
Nevery realized growing up I was surrounded by weird Fred Dibner type stuff.
This sentence has never been written before.
There’s a guy in Bristol who DM’d me a while back about doing some sort of collaboration that never came to pass who does really nice ones and classes - https://www.instagram.com/nouko_knives/
@anonymity wonderful stuff
I made this little one last year out of an old file and hardened it on a petrol camping stove with some fire bricks set up on top as a forge.
@niallc @anonymity miss those old Farringdon sessions. Think I might have some footage of you there.
I broke my ribs there once when Ayumi’s Japanese friend Shizuka was over. I slammed with fist in my ribs skating the hip and spent the rest of the day ostensibly grabbing my left tit.
Said Japanese mate took great delight in repeatedly saying ‘oppai itai’ everytime I grabbed it.
(Tit pain)
Lol
Love that. I’d be well up to have a go at one.
thank god with all this forge talk the stoked thread finally being used correctly.
Rad park ! My mate skates there loads . You’ll bump into him he’s a incredible wood carver/stone mason Too.
Tom?
Yeah
Which Tom haha.
