Was at the skatepark today and helped one of young locals with his kick flips , he was in rocket stance, shoulders open etc , no chance of landing them .
Spent 20 mins with him changing his technique and 20 mins later he landed one .
Little did I know it was his first ever kick flip and he was absolutely beside himself.
Was so sick to see and remember that feeling , he was so stoked and his mates came running up to him cheering and hugging/ fist bumps .
He lands a couple more and he said how it all clicked and what he was doing wrong .
Saw Therapy? last night on my own and was stoked to attend a gig on my todd, without any anxiety at all. Had a lovely chat with the guy at the merch stand for the band, bought a beer and just stood by the front without my brain going eeer-deerrrp. Used to go to a lot of gigs (and raves) on my own. Normally a non-event for most folks, but for me itās been a thing for years where the usual anxiety brain kicks into gear.
I also thought this was another highlight: Cairns addressed this before kicking off into the next song at one point: "This one is for whoever it is by here shouting āyou fat bastard!ā over and over. I might be fat, but at least I can lose weight! Youāll always look like that (or look like a rat!)"
It was the said topless, large fellow that was shouting it and was a bit of a dick, constantly putting this guyās hood over his own head and bunging this guyās hat backwards into the crowd. So felt like a bit of a gratification there!
Sure a lot of people on here watched Lordz They Donāt give a fuck about us. Remember Thibauld Fradin?
Anyway Iām in Nantes went and found the local SOS, wanted to buy a setup to keep in France. Go into this shop milk skate Shop chatting to the guy and I recognise him - itās Thibauld from that video. Couldnāt believe it so gassed. I broke my copies of that video I watched it so much.
Lovely guy, gave me Bones reds, bones bushings, grip tape and hardware for free.
Made me the best coffee Iv drank and just talked mad shit about that video loads of other like skateshop crap and being miserable bastards saying how great it was BITD.
Iām absolutely made up. I met Luy Pa Sin a few times in Barcey so sound - Alex Carlino I met in Oxford, I will meet everyone from that video haha.
Funnily enough I listened to his Bigspin interview again last night. Top bloke for sure.
I still have a massive (board sized) Lordz sticker somewhere and kinda want to put it on a board sometime soon. Hopefully itāll make ledge skating easier!
Fucking gassed getting an annual pass soon to leave a car at Nantes airport. Gunna make my life 4,000 times easier and means getting a lot more chances to skate in Nantes for the next year!
Renault Captur driver in the EU @Barf proper wagon that.
Had to get my balls painfully fondled to prove otherwise, but I spent the last week convinced I was about to die⦠Turns out all good and they donāt need to lop anything off.
