Tu gères frère !
Just found a hard drive full of music I thought I’d lost sometime around 2011
One of my deepest regrets is the box of tapes I winged not long after we moved into our house. Don’t know what I was thinking. Just hadn’t played a tape in ages but how I’d love to hear to some of those now.
Hopefully you’ve got a Bitcoin wallet from back then in there too.
I remember talking about bitcoin in the late 2000’s my housemates in uni. None of us understood it at all.
I never bothered mining when I probably could’ve easily got thousands of full coins and instead played online poker for 20 hours a day.
What a great decision that was.
Long day - drove down to Watford for that Harry Potter thing with family, then drove back home to Newcastle (the other one) quick snack then over to the local park to hopefully catch that last of the SBGB comp but everyone had gone.
Which meant an empty park for a couple of hours with a couple of mates. Knackered now, but getting a few Bizarre Bub vids in now with my lad ![]()

There was a big comp at my local park yesterday. Sven Kilchenmann, Simon Gerber (one of the best skaters in the country) and that Matias Dell Olio guy were warming up skating that part of the park I designed before the final, watching them skating the obstacles I skate all the time was incredible. Those guys are so good.
I hurt my knee a couple weeks ago but it’s fixed now and I could skate for 2 hours yesterday, I even did tricks I hadn’t tried in a long time. Good for the soul!
I remember being in on the bitcoin webshop in 2010, I could have bought whole coins when they were worth a handful of dollars each. I specifically remember laughing thinking this is was a flash in the pan and I wouldn’t be able to use them to buy anything anyway.
Yeah, someone at work was mining them and I thought he was wasting his time, He’s not rich now, though, because getting in early and having the foresight to keep hanging on to them through the ups and downs are two different things.
Apologies for the running spam,
but I hit a pretty significant milestone this morning. I ran a half marathon on my training plan at a casual pace - This pace has now surpassed my original target pace.
There’s a personal story in the updates here
Very grateful to those who have supported - absolutely no expectation to do so.
- the euphoria of this lasted about an hour before some Michael Fabricant finished the London Marathon in this time.
Made redundant last Tuesday due to reptilians. Accepted a new job today. Just took dog for a walk and got two free pints.
Stoked.
Also and please forgive me if this seems like I’m crowing like a wanker but a kid I teach who’s on bail for various things but is fundamentally a good kid came up to me today and said ‘yo, just so you know, you’re the only teacher that has ever treated me with any respect. I’m gutted that you’re losing your job so I’ve made you a pizza. I hope you like stuffed crust and jalapeños’. I do and it was fucking lush. This kid is the sort of person that the right wing media want you to believe are incorrigible. Brown, Muslim and involved in crime. But genuinely a lovely person.
Nice one! What’s the new job?
Not at all, this is some proper heart warming shit! When stuff like that happens it just reminds me that being a good, sound person is only the real value any of us are adding. Not how we meet what ever made up metrics our employers are wanking over.
Another teaching role but in a different kind of setting.
My mate moved from primary to special needs and loves it, total 180 for him with how much he now enjoys it again. Hope it works out for you.
Good luck @anonymity!
Priceless that is kidda. Good luck with the new role, I hope it takes it easier on you.
Captain my captain but said with the gift of pizza instead, rad!
Finally sold the house ! Completed and money in the bank this afternoon.
