If I wasn’t busy last weekend I would of watched Tampa just from this thread alone! So please keep this trend going haha Skateboarding still wins at the end of the day people!
Talking shit in this thread during the comp is the closest thing I have to home premieres with mates back in the day when you had to wait for the actual tape or DVD.
He’ll grow out of it. Don’t know how old he is but he’s much younger than CK is and there’s a difference to being a 21 year old who’s just discovered the free bar at a party and a 29 year old who’s got a drinking problem.
Girl want to be younger and edgier but nobody there can skin up so they got this guy.
The only thing I could think whilst watching this was how bland the course was.
Yeah, it needed a few more rails!
Didn’t the setup used to be called ‘The W’? Is it still called that?
Nyjah probably asked them to put some gap to rails in seeing as that’s his speciality.
I think Anon said he saw pro’s complaining about the course on the live feed.
It did seem very Nyjah based to me, go big, go far, get 9’s.
i was thinking this. gotta love a good hip
Yeah having a hip is the only way people like Luan can get in the running.
telling you man, we’re all just one slappy curb away from winning Tampa, why they gotta keep us down like this
nah probably not. It’s a generic obstacle but it definitely makes for a mixed run otherwise it’s just twits who are good at rails taking all the glory.
I’ve noticed that a lot depends on how many times you flip your board (maybe that’s obvious). But flip tricks are seen as more ‘high risk’ as people land them less consistently. That’s why Shane outscored Andy Anderson despite bailing. Having a hip is an easy way to incorporate flip tricks into runs. Anyone who did well this year did so on a harder course than last year. ie. Nyjah is going to win everything. Only a statutory rape allegation could derail Olympic gold now.
Also, where was Yuto? He’s Nyjah’s closest competitor usually.
Shane didn’t bail the last trick was after his time had run out.
I meant the semi-finals which knocked ANdy A out.
AA bailed on his runs, didn’t him?
Zitzer (one of the announcers) slagged it off kind of, before being chastised for it lol
The course feels a bit like it needs something in the middle to help people maintain speed. It’s trick over the box, trick on the quarter and then a too long length of flat before you get to the quarter at the other end. Then a completely different section on the far side which means people have to get off their board and drop back in, stopping any flow.
Unless you can do flip backtail on a handrail as first trick first try, your screwed
