Fully backing that FA/Hockey vid, always refreshing to see something original that’s also goth as fuck and has an Amebix track. Sold!
Also agree with Build re: VX footage. Never thought I would get bored of it but I feel like I’m kinda over with how it looks after a couple years warming to HD now.

I’ve said it a million times to the point of being boring but HD and skating, to me does not look right. Same with movies. They need to look the way they have always looked, it’s got an unrealistic quality that seperates it from normal life. An unobtainable mystery that you’ll never witness with your own eyes.
Saying that, I do like to watch rough cuts (when they are rough)
Anyway, I wouldn’t say I liked the quality but I didn’t mind it so much and prefer it to ultra realism quality.
The thing that would annoy me about the quality though is the reasoning for it in Dill’s mind. He’ll be thinking he’s done something new and special, taking the piss out of us all and taking our money. Which I guess he is, but minus the special.

I disagree. It all comes down to the style, direction and editing. Take Chris Mulhern and Hold Tight Henry for example, their work is beautiful.

OK, I mean modern skating that looks like modern skating. Those guys film stuff that looks like would be on VX anyway. Because it’s rad.
