I don’t like the way legit edits are starting to copy typical Youtube clickbait intro screens. The way there is always the person/people pulling faces outlined in a colour on it and some clickbait comment “Did Wes share his weed with Madars?”
I have never looked into the in house YT editor thing but it does make me wonder if the more you use in that part of YT the better the algorithm for your promotion you get. Anyone know?

This was put out by Red Bull who are all about the numbers. They feel a bit like a marketing company which puts out skate content. Same with the Berrics trying to reorientate themselves as online ‘content providers’ and promoting tretch brands like Cariuma. Hopefully we’re a long way from Thrasher doing this.

Statistically, video thumbnails with human faces get more clicks than ones that don’t. Same goes for video thumbnails with text vs without text.
So then combine them and all of a sudden all video thumbnails look the same, and everyone is taking it to ridiculous extremes, hence the stupid dumb reaction faces you get on every YT video.

Also I’m being recommended videos by someone called John Hill and he looks like a right jeb end. The title of the vid was ‘I flew all the way to Ireland to skate this park!!’ There is a fucking pandemic on you moron.
If this was the skate media available to me when I was young, I can honestly say I dont think i would be skating still.

I don’t mind that in normal photographic circumstances, I’m so un-photogenic that for whatever reason, my face just does it’s own thing and I can’t stop it.
