The Continually Updated Footage Thread

Turns out we were both wrong. Was in Portions the Austin Bristow edit. Been doing my head in since last night!

Posted this in the Stoked thread but I got a better clip today and thought I’d stick it in here. Cardiff gnarly boy Jake Tucker, tail drop with Stella in hand…didn’t spill a drop.

The Stella drop in and the Jamie Griffin parts are antipodal.
I love that they’ve been posted back to back.

I really came here to also comment that Jamie Griffin just went pro for hopking and find it interesting that his debut part is also his pro part. How many times has that happened before?
I’m going to count this as pro pro, because I imagine hopking are paying him, even if they are a primarily a brewery.

It’s also interesting, that he had a slow mo line on two, two sets yet then did a laser flip (maybe double) down London Bridge ten.

He’s like the joker in Allan Moore’s the killing joke.

Fun fact: Willow and Gav Coughlan both laser flipped the london bridge 10 and the clips of both were never used anywhere.

About to peep but was instantly reminded of this line of Bucky:

Whatever happened to him? Wasn’t he on direct zero flow at one point?

Yeah, I think that all changed when Garage Days started/Blackbox ended. Or however it works.

He gets Birdhouse boards and god knows what else. I guess Birdhouse is through Shiner.

I’ve not really spoken to him much over the past 3-4 years. I think he got really badly injured and it took him out for a couple of years.

I’ve seen some recent insta posts so he’s skating again which is good.

Seems to have a decent flow deal going on with Globe aswell.

I have trouble keeping up with all of the constant new footage these days!

Gav came down here for a comp I was judging 3 years ago, lovely bloke, skated very well too. Good to hear he’s alright after that injury.

Our crew rinsed this part so much back in the day. I’m guessing everyone else did as well?

Yeah, I totally did. 90% of that was next level gnarly for a pretty much unknown kid in '07.
I think he was getting local boards and had been getting Emerica for a couple of months when that came out.

I got his number and rang him after that to send him Volcom product - because I distinctly remember having the order ref for his box as “Get this man out of those shorts”.

That’s a sponsor tape? Blimey.

Couldn’t help but notice that, without commenting on the actual skating, that the filming of that compared to the HopKing part from earlier is miles apart in quality.

Something been lost over the past decade?

Edit. Feel I should say, I’m not trying to diss whoever filmed the hopking part. Just something I noticed

I think it’s fair to say that the filming in the hop king video was less than great.

When HopKing say this fella “went pro” for them, I can only read that as they gave him a job in the warehouse stacking palettes.

Jesus it’s been a while since I watched that, it feels crazy that it was 14 years ago. To add to the Gav hype, all that Barcelona footage was filmed over a 10 day trip and I think we went out every night. Because we were cool.

It looks like it was optimised for Tik Tok or something. Unwatchable. On so many levels.
