I did watch that BATB out of morbid fascination. I thought the T-shirt was worse than the trousers.

Yes, ‘Hail the White Grain’. Funny they re-edited the video to remove Jason Jesse from the end for his racism but this song didn’t catch any criticism.

OK. Nobody in Death in June ever skated, as far as I know.
They draw heavily on fascist imagery, particularly that of the SA/SS, and their shows have occasionally attracted protests in the past. The main man behind it, Douglas P., is openly gay and, I think, he sometimes uses this to excuse his pretty questionable views.
I mean the song used in the Converse video is called ‘Hail the White Grain’ which seems mega dodgy. Although its lyrics are pretty abstract and hard to pin down.

The words ‘hail’ and ‘white’ heard together in non weather-forecasting usage are normally a dead giveaway.

There’s a phrase you don’t see much of these days.
Steven Stapleton and William Bennett got called out for supposedly being Nazis too, but there’s a big difference between being interested in it (like Lemmy) and actually backing it. If they were playing indie music and talking like this, it’d be pretty obvious they were just some morons trying to be outrageous. There’s so much more to that while world. If you haven’t listened to the music or read any of the writing etc. etc.

Does this get into Whitehouse/Philip Best/Peter Sotos? So sketchy but fascinating.
Not nearly as much Whitehouse as I’d expect, but I think Billy B knows that if he speaks too much he’ll give the game away. Philip Best and Peter Sotos get as much space as they reasonably should, likewise Sleazy. He gets most because his band and background are the most ‘interesting’, obviously.

Patrik Wallner makes some damn good videos. I just wish he’d get a steadier rig for his fisheye stuff and a mic that doesn’t sound so soggy. It has a whiff of auto VX2100 about it.
