Mark Suciu?
Silas Baxter Neal isn’t your most alpha of males. I see him on nature walks looking at mushrooms the other day.
Alpha male is such a weird term to use to make your point.
I think a better way to put it would be a non cis gender male I guess.
Absolutely never going to happen from Thrasher though. They’d never risk alienating half of their paying customers from middle America.
I think the greatest thing that’s happened in skateboarding (and has always happened with other facets) is the queer skate community barging and making space for themselves, rather than waiting to be invited.
I dont think its never going to happen but Id rather it happens when theres a non cis gender skater that comes onto the scene and genuinely has a ridiculous groundbreaking year and deserves it instead of getting it because of what they are instead of what theyve done.
I think this is the second month. They did a couple of “Hell of a Year” edits, and DVDs before that…I think.
I guess they are just speeding it all up now.
Gets better as it goes along, some tricks are solid, some more dubious. I’m not sure if it’s cool or not that he’s checking out the comments to his section, haha.
When was he of enjoi?
Shame adidas don’t do proper edits anymore. This trip seemed to be geared to getting clips for their riders’ instagrams.
Arty but not farty ethnographic backfill, cool music, ridiculous Ibu Sanyang (sp) pop and lots of Milan footy
Just watched this, so good . Great bit of tekkers street
So good.
I’m pretty sure Kevin b is from Arizona and came up skating with the pyramid county crew then moved to sf when his career revved up.
Pier 7 got liberated by an unknown hero during lockdown, got stopped again and liberated again by the Philly crew the same day. I think you have to do a runner if the police come.
Sanch does the fakie heel fakie wheelie from
High to low in the gold video, got gold.
Or maybe tws sight unseen
Iirc he moved to AZ from the Chicago area then moved on to SF, (like @Gconroy said). He’s been in The City for four or five years now.
Re. Pier 7 being a bust or not these days, what he said…
I recently heard a fun fact about Pier 7 from bitd. I can’t remember where I heard it but the gist of it was that the legal firm that was based next to the ledges was owned by a guy whose kids skated and he was a bit of a law unto himself. He figured that not paying his yearly taxes was preferable to getting a fine and a brief stint in jail every now and again. Anyway, he fully backed the place being a skate spot and smoothed things over if there was any hassle with the cops , (or something like that).
