I used to agree but now more than ever, raw talent isn’t as important as personality and style.
He gets a pass for sloppiness and easy tricks because he’s Jamal Smith. Nobody doesn’t like him.
Heelflip fs blunt!!!
Yeah at least he acknowledges it though
i’d rather watch Jamal Smith tornado spin
Love Jamal, friendliest dude irl too. Never thought a heelflip blunt would look good! Don’t think I’ve ever seen one before
Sometimes it don’t matter if you’re not the best, as long as you got style and a certain personality. When I see Jamal footy pop up I wanna at least attempt transition skating like that and just have a little jam around. That’s at least a reason to keep someone like that on your team, especially if he’s a good egg on trips and gets people hyped up as well. He was sound as fudge when I met him before, definitely a good egg.
I know he’s mentioned Palace coming about wasn’t a thing he was really trying for, either. He did shy away from skating a while back and focused mainly on music, so I’m glad to see him back skating a lot.
He’s unique to watch and he’s sick. Funny dude as well.
I like that he brings something different and fun to the table, it’s even quite predictable but in a good way I’d say. The shoes are an ‘interesting’ design…
Great stuff at Lloyd’s!
Was so stoked to see that stuff go down in person at Lloyds. Kevin’s switch flips over the little gaps were proper bo popped, like.
Probs my favourite part of Jahmir so far.
Jahmir makes me think of Kareem a lot on some of the first few lines, great stuff.
All rad. The back nosegrind pop was a a nice nod to webbing at love (I guess intentionally?)
Can’t remember if I posted this before but he was in London over winter and one night at southbank it was just me Jeremy Jones and our friend and jahmir and he was without a shadow of a doubt the friendliest professional skateboarder I’ve ever met.
If I was a young kid and met him I’m sure I would have been buying strictly jahmir product for a long time after that meeting.
The Bunt with him is well worth a listen for any who haven’t already.
I thought he actually came across a little iffy in that in parts, maybe down to nerves of being recorded for his first interview.
But safe to say, stellar bloke in real life. Mental skater
If memory serves I think he was a bit vague around what happened with DGK but I remember enjoying the rest of it anyway.
New Limosine vid is up!
That Magenta part looked like it was probably ok but I skipped after less than a minute and had forgotten everything else by the time I watched the last trick.
Nice to see some manuals in Dee Ostrander’s part but otherwise he’s basically stuck in 2004 and I don’t give a shit about him smoking weed.
Shogo Zama’s part was alright, Japanese architecture is quite the dream when it comes to street skating.
