That’s what I tried. Backside one.
Could get up to it but struggled to stand up on it. Tired legs.
Went back a few days later to have another pop and it was skate stopped.
Backside Noseblunt is still insane. TBH, even getting up into a backlip seems wild to me - just getting that back truck over the top is a feat.
This guy always makes me so happy when I watch him, to a level no other skater does , 60 years old and ripping that well with the youth of a 20 year old still .
The smile it brings knowing the potential to still skate well at 60 is something else .
Just watched that new Quasi thing.
Some really interesting unseen spots and some cool skating.
Rizzo’s track though - wtf?
Agree re The Fall track - seemed like a random choice. That said I did like how the guy who skated to it wore every possible shoe brand
I dunno mate - AWS aesthetic made sense - it was self referential - their ads, videos and board graphics all tied together and were consistent.
Quasi doesn’t feel like that to me - all those weird momentary cut aways to people’s faces in that ‘Dixie bit’ are a good example of their fragmentary non-cohesive approach - there was no overarching narrative or aesthetic choice there for me.
More a case of - let’s film some poor people and then blipvert it to look cerebral.
As soon as I heard it I knew it had to be used for something and at the time, we had a few lil edits on the go for Insta (but wanted to use it for something more, like a part).
There’s not many Aphex tracks that would work with skating!
