The Continually Updated Footage Thread

Bit hazy, but I know it was two snowboarders who surfed and skated who started it.
I think they didn’t really do much aside from sell it from the back of their cars till '93.

Caswell was first sponsored then I guess Remy Stratton, Chet Thomas and some other pros came onboard at which point Remy began to build out the skate side of things properly. I guess thats when you began to see ads creep in, etc.

They made another video before Freedom Wig. Its like a surf/skate/snow mix. I never liked it. The mix bored me. But that was early says and they had team.

EDIT: It was called “Alive We Ride”

My lasting memory of volcom is that the jeans lasted forever and that I did not blag enough stuff off you @Londonskater

This and getting bollocked via headset for swearing too much whilst MCing a kid’s contest in CPH courtesy of @Londonskater
Cheers for all the hook ups over the years.

P.s. it wasn’t @Londonskater telling me off it was Volcom heads.

P.p.s Also @Londonskater remrmber when that weird guy in full Man Utd football kit followed you and I into the bogs at Madrid (?) bus station and kept trying to proposition us whilst I was taking a shit?
Halcyon days

Volcom is a weird one, it’s kinda middle of the road non brand right now and that’s kinda where I am so I find myself liking plain stuff and in a skateshop, it tends to end up being volcom.
I have some volcom boxers that were bought me and in typical fashion the brand is big around the waist band. Depending where the name falls on the back seam is it can chop into it so one pair reads VOM
CMAOAV
(check my ass out and Vomit)

Verbal support only or holding hands under the partition?

Seville.
Yes.
Being hungover and desperately needing a number 2 combined with Spanish bus station cruising loos isn’t any easy one to figure at that time of the morning. Eek.

And the hook ups…Total pleasure. You smashed it. And if you didn’t smash ‘it’ then you found something else to smash, later.
Lotta fun.

Well rounded section from an under-appreciated mega stoner.

I really want to love Sk8mafia because the team is so sick but their videos are just put together so badly. They feel like sixth form media studies edits (what the fuck is that weird film burn filter). They just need to find a new editor and their videos will be so much more enjoyable.

Loved that. His Mandown section is one my all time favs!
The song suits his skating so well!

Some absolute belters of spots in that!

yeah man, some cool spots.
Harvey Lenton! can you please film more of the skateboard and the spot please, less pasty faces and bloated trousers.

Why do people promote their skating with “Street part” what does that even mean? As opposed to what? is it just youtubers trying to put out footage they deem is legit?
If it says “street part” i’m not clicking.

It’s time to not watch skate videos if it’s still annoying you

I went to SD for 3 or 4 days once when I was staying at a mate’s in SF. One day we went to the Rancho Penasquitos skatepark and like half the SK8MAFIA team was there. The guys were shredding but they were super mellow, never complained about kids getting in their way or anything. It was a weekday and some of them were doing flip tricks down that big set of stairs, not even filming or anything, just skating. So rad.
Their videos are what they are but I’ll always watch them as I have a lot of respect for those dudes. Absolute skate rats. Alexis Ramirez is really underrated.
