Flo part was sick

Beautiful trick selection

Ender was flawless

I’m alright. I’m also allowed an opinion.

I’m not knocking her as a person. I don’t know her.

Keep in mind my initial reaction is after one watch. I just watched again and made some screenshots of pretty suspect landings. Adding a slo-mo effect when you’re almost at a standstill doesn’t help.

On this second viewing I rate a few more clips but I’m pretty sure if she left some of the sketchy landings out I would have appreciated it more eg her Ollie up heel flip down.

I guess I don’t want love to be the law of the universe?

lol, making the hill you’re going to die on with a stack of screengrabs there!

Regarding pop - Homeboy at 1.12 barely made it off the ground.

Not sure I agree, his style isn’t even close to theirs BUT this part was good, way better than any previous which I thought were really boring.

I think this is what I was getting at when I said adidas edits aren’t that slick anymore. They all feel a bit rushed and like they haven’t given the riders enough time to stack a number of really impressive clips. All feels a bit sub par, especially compared to what other corp shoe brands are putting out.

Also Maité is stealing a living when you compare her output to other female skaters.

The Adidas city edits that Juice Design worked on were amazing, so yes their recent output suffers by comparison. Such a shame they are no longer on YouTube. I wish you could buy a dvd compilation.

I made this playlist of all the ones I could find a few years ago:

Let me know if I missed any.

Amazing, thanks

Enjoyed the Flo Mirtain part but that ‘Ol Blue Eyes song can go in the sea. Can’t stand it, but whatever.

Could not agree more!

Ah, the old pro skating game? All that switching and popping? Hardest game in the world. I had to stop in the end, terrible back injury you see

This is another discussion but something I’ve been thinking about:

We are currently living in an age where footage seems available every day - live even. One might say sponsored skaters have never had to work harder, and it does put the effort of filming a proper full length team video into doubt.
However, this constant push of footage also means curation is suffering. I feel like so many parts are getting less impressive simply because it feels like we’re getting every clip including the kitchen sink (Sidenote: Deluxe released free dvds with a similar name during the hey day of free dvds with magazines).
Then, the constant delivery of footage tells us said skaters are active and at the same time removes any mystique. It’s a weird double edged sword.

Back in the day of full length VHS/DVDs, I never really rated some of the Crail riders because after say 2-3 years of filming they only managed to scrape together a handful of tricks. Whereas others delivered.

A company who I feel are doing it right are Limosine who deliver a modern day full length (20mins average?) for every season drop. Something to look forward too rather rather than something you feel you’ve seen before if that makes any sense?

I just don’t like it, the organ hurts my ears damnit!!

(Also apologies if I’ve missed a jokes, I never saw much Fast Show or whatever it was called!)

Edit 2: get it now, over my head ha

Back in 2001 we’d see a new Tom Penny clip every other year and it would hype all of us more than the 10’000 new clips we can see on Insta any day now.
Showing my age, yeah. Whatever. I’m glad I was 15 when I was 15.

They did film bangers and deliver, Ty Evans never included all their footage in most Crailtap vids. Jeron Wilson and some other guys regularly mention that in various interviews or podcasts. Poor guys, working hard on parts for years only to realize Ty put like 4 of their clips in the video at the premiere. What an idiot.

Don’t worry, everything will be alright.
Just watch every clip you can and then put the young ones on after, for good measure

Jeron’s the exception. He’s talked about how Ty did him dirty in Yeah Right a couple of times and how Skate More was his comeback.

I was thinking more like Chris Roberts and Daniel Castillo.

In some instances, they unlist videos, but the url will still work if you can find it linked elsewhere.

You don’t have to watch every piece of skateboarding media. It’s not all for you anymore. Skating has become more diverse and everything around it (videos, mags, product etc) is doing the same.

Being blunt and as ever making some relatively safe assumptions here, but things like this Adidas edit are created by and for a different audience to your average 9 club subscriber. Especially those that self identify as no longer going skating to any degree at all.

It’s great if you can appreciate them, but if you don’t… you can just let it pass you by and wait for the next thing.
