Has it?
Not many mags around anymore I don’t see what else killed them off
Not as many but they’re far from dead, a bit like when they thought print media would be dead by now, it’s just changed.
No. There are literally more mags than there’s ever been right now.
The whole internet killed physical media, it’s not specific to skateboarding, it’s a blanket movement.
But there are pockets of resurgence like Vinyl.
Did it? You know ‘killed’ would imply gone altogether right? Have you seen DVD sales lately? They are waaaaaaaay from dead.
But are they in WH Smiths?
killed is not the word, you’re right but HMV disappeared and then came back more streamlined. Lets say there was a big impact on the industry and the surviving entities had to adapt.
I just feel like it’s something people used to say years and years ago when streaming and kindles became common. A printed mag will always have a place unless people are going to be happy with A4 sized tablets/phones or some kind of projecting technology.
It’s not a millenium bug type situ, it was a real situ that industries lost money and business’ over.
Well that would be going completely the other way and imply there was no change at all which is obviously not what I’m saying.
Anyway, here is a person I had forgotten existed:
Good to see he’s still tanking it
Not watched it but I imagine you’re being sarcastic ha.
I have the vague recollection that Ronson Lambert and Wade Desarmo were of the same ilk and were considered in the same breath, regarding speed and clothing. But Wade D seemed to have a big comeback where he’s held in high regard. I don’t remember being stoked on Wade D in the past but I do consider him to be rad now. Am I tripping regarding this?
To be fair he was lucky to get away with the tall tees but I don’t think I’ve ever seen footage that looks too slow. But then Danny Brady skates pretty slowly and it doesn’t matter to me because his tricks flow nicely as there’s very little loss of momentum.
Yeah, i’m not sure whether I have made this up in my mind. Were they ever in the same video or have a shared section?
Not to my knowledge.
Timely:
Thrasher putting starting to put up the new Toy vid. I quite like Blake Carpenter, he’s got a sort of early 00’s tech-on-rails feel to his skating.
What I found odd about this section though, is the 4 back to back switch flip tail slides, on essentially the same obstacle. Strange editing choice.
Who is the guy on the Baker board some way in?
He’s good.
