Get this guy on Edglrd.
Imagine he had a good filmer!
I expected to just skip to the inevitable mad enders but I ended up watching the whole thing.
He’s always been an amazing skater but his clothes style and the way his last few sections have been filmed has been off-putting, however I really enjoyed this. Somehow the hypnotic music and endless bangers was unskipable.
That had big ‘best guy from your hometown in 2015’ energy.
Also, having a fully blacked out arm but only 5 other tattoos is insane
- pants from 2013
- he’s been so good r so long
- cab flip should’ve been the ender surely
- music, no
4th trick is trolling
Palette cleanser
This is great - a less polished/aspirational version of This Old Ledge.
I hope he @deadhippie does more. His contributions to Skateboarder were ace and I love his Instagram. Natas and Gonz - fucking hell. It took 40 years for people to understand how in the future they were.
Is insta is mint, love how he’s learning so many new tricks in his later years. Pretty inspiring.
New Thames video.
Enjoyed both of those. Not sure who that Ludwig dude is, but enjoyed the edit and Gabbers slamming into concrete is always fun to watch.
The Emerica edit felt fresh as well, at least for the brand. Bit of a new direction, wouldn’t mind seeing a bit more stuff like this.
I really had to force myself past the cigar smoking while skating. Fuckin hell, if there is ever a class statement in a skate video, that’s it. But anyway, I kinda enjoyed the skating, nice edit on the whole and Angels didn’t even spoil it. Midi harmonica is 100 times better than Robbie’s voice.
Gonz wants a word…
Knew that was coming.
Gonz is the Gonz, he’ll do what he does no matter what, pretentious or not he’s bonkers and we all embrace is, the amazing and the mediocre.
Sneaking cigars from Dad’s special stash is different and i’d wonder what the thought process is behind doing it? Is there a premeditated idea and image he/they want to portray?
Wild thought: Maybe it’s not that deep and he likes cigars?
I didn’t really like the first guy. Adding a cigar prop didnt help.
I really dislike Ludwig, partially because his footage is always so mid and never adds anything to an edit but also because he smokes cigars while he skates which is such a gross anti-flex.
his footage belongs halfway through a shop video thats just in there because they work at the shop and are a nice person.
His footage should have been reduced to the backside 360 kickflip on the rough bank by southbank and the nosewheelie spinny ender, which were both sick and so much better than anything else in the section.
Robbie Williams cover worked really well and the edit was nice and calming. Session on the kinked wooden bank was sick.
Grabbers tacked on at the end seemed completely out of place and the clip would have been better off as a stand alone instagram introduction to Thames.
I don’t think we should get into this particularly but I fully believe that no one actually likes smoking, at least not at first. What is it they say? Try something like 9 times and you become accustomed to it and maybe actually like it.
I think people actually like the things associated with smoking more, the hit, the way it makes them feel, the image etc etc.
I know people will argue against this but I think that’s addiction talking.
Am I trolling or am I serious? Who knows.
