He said that thing in 2016 about being able to go out on the street, shoot someone and get away with it. I genuinely think that his fans wouldn’t bat any eyelid if he did it. If anything they’d like him more
Some large percentage of his supporters would do the same thing if they could get away with it.
Sus.
Currently watching his Joe Rogan episode, spicy.
Seemingly dissing Chinese skating whilst also getting paid to coach a Chinese skater is a novel concept.
Chinasfuck is his account as well right? Tattoos match up in the posts
Modified thread title. Twitter has been circling the drain for some time now.
Supposedly it’s called ‘X’ now too, but if you call it that you’re basically enabling Elon Musk.
Fuck that.
Am on threads but I don’t think they have lists sorted out yet? Or do they?
Edit: you can now, they’re called feeds
Man I heard that call live and knew it was going to be in clips everywhere. It was amazing. Really didn’t do his cause any favours and I was struggling to see why farmers should have be inheritance tax exempt anyway. They’d be better off pushing for a reversal for brexit which lost them massive subsidies and access to markets
Seems like it’s one of those where whichever side you’re on means you’ll think your man ‘destroyed’ the other guy. Personally I thought neither came across very well but the line from O’Brien ‘Why don’t you sell some stuff?’ sounded a bit desperate.
More importantly though, very, very Partridge.
I’ve seen the big-eared boys on farms
I’m a bit unsure what’s even going on here. Is it not so much farmers that are the target as people who stick a few cows on their land so they can call them farms and avoid inheritance tax on their massive country piles?
Would the government even raise that much money out of it if that is the plan?
bearing in mind that the numbers equate to about 500 farms a year that will pay inheritance tax under the new scheme and that they’ll be paying 20% on farms over £1 mill (but its not that simple and will realistically be more like £2-3 mill). that 20% will also only be on value above the threshold, not the total value and they have 10 years to pay it.
all in all, doesn’t sound that bad when everyone is being made to pay more to fix the country
I can see why the farmers are pissed. It reminds me of some traditional thing they do in some african states, where land is split between inheritees.
So imagine, you have a farm that’s say 10km2 in size. Then the dad dies and has to split it between the 3 kids. So now they each have a farm that’s 3.3km2 in size. And when they die it gets split again and again until they each have to support a family living on something the size of a doormat. In the same way I see the unfairness that farms can only remain efficient if they stay big. By taxing the farmer and forcing them to sell off land (or their family home if the land isn’t worth that much), it’s unfair, so I totally get why the farmers are pissed off.
However, I can also see how this loophole was previously leveraged by the rich wanting to preserve capital for their kids, it makes total sense and it’s not illegal. Just tax avoidance rather than tax evasion.
I am 100% sure I don’t know the full deal as I haven’t followed it that closely, but it’s an extremely difficult thing to police. I don’t think what Labour are trying to do is fair for the OG farmers. I think it’s pretty well known that they don’t earn a great deal, especially since the EU subsidies got taken away.
Was listening to this in the car yesterday, absolutely bonkers caller , was really just phoning in to try and outsmart, get one over on JOB .
Brought back Brexit vibes big time and the brexiteer mentality of the thick bully in the playground. Absolutely pathetic and embarrassing. The cringe level was high.
Another one of those fringe fanatics especially when he banged on about JOB being a woky liberal leftie and I how much he hates him and only called in to scream at him .
All that air time wasted when he could have had a civilised discussion and not look like an absolute bell end .
Yeah I think that’s the target really. Clarkson is obviously the poster boy for this, but loads of people do it. It’s a shame that Clarkson has somehow become the face of the campaign to protest against it. If you had someone who wasn’t farming simply to avoid IHT maybe people would listen.
They should be able to tax real farmers and hobby IHT dodgers separately but I’m not sure how you would do that.
Good video here with some thoughts. Numbers look similar to running a skate shop haha.
I don’t think I have ever seen JOB have a civilised discussion? He’s just a rage baiter isn’t he?
