A minor detour from the Pacific Highway north of Sydney, about halfway between Forster and Port Macquarie and just minutes away from the picturesque town of Kundle Kundle, lies Cundletown.
Lots of tiny orange @hugos running around in tiny little Nike boat shoes. I tried to take a picture but whenever I got too close they scampered away.
I tried to buy a milkshake in the petrol station but for some reason the Hugo there couldn’t find it on the spreadsheet that he used to store the prices of all the stuff in the shop. I offered to help but my fingers were too fat to work his Hugo sized mini keyboard so I paid for my fuel and left.
Is one of those the Belinda tribute band?

That’s a very black fashion choice
I love it when you come across one of those council estate ballers with Lion topped gate posts and a yacht and a Range Rover parked on the drive. Bonus points if you spot an ice cream van on the same street.
Did they win it on Bullseye?
Just reminded me of something really grim
A long time ago at a company I worked for that no longer exists I had to do a fraud check on a customer and check their source of funds because they lived in a a really really rough council estate and were gambling obscene amounts of money
My mind was obviously thinking drugs or crime, especially me they told me they won £1m on the millionaire raffle on euro millions
I asked for bank statements and all the evidence and they ACTUALLY had won
Whole bank statement was gambling transactions from £1m down to whatever was left
Really really sad
I lived near a really rough council estate with someone who gambled over a million!
Well along with putting it up his nose and drinking it that is ![]()
A few years after we graduated, I went on a stag do in about 2006 with lads I lived with at Uni. Stood at the bar on the second night, one of them leaned in and says ‘yeah so my Dad won £1.1m on a lucky dip last week’ and asked me not to tell anyone. Showed me the winning ticket on his phone. He wasn’t flexing, just sharing big news but didn’t want to shout it out. Once his Dad gave his three sons a modest house deposit each, bought a mid range Merc, paid off his mortgage and got a golf club membership, there was only really enough left to retire at early 50’s. Which is all, of course, amazing on one level but I remember later thinking how you assume a lotto win means throwing money out the Bentley window, champagne on cornflakes and maybe buying Muska’s new shoes when really it’s not. If you’re careful with it you can eke out an early retirement but that’s about it.
