Not entriely sure why his name is on them then.
Itās a little odd but not as bad as the Nike Janoski OāNeill.
I heard that Tom found the shoe on eBay or somewhere and was really hyped on it. Then he took it to Seb and co and they really had to dig through the archives to find it. Then it was decided between them that they would bring it back for his pro shoe.
Iād say bringing a incredibly obscure old model back with refinements warrants a pro shoe title. Every Vans/Nike/Adidas āproā shoe these days is just a slight riff on an existing model from the brands
When was the last original looking pro model? Janoksi maybe? This one definitley stands out from the rest of the NB line both skate and non skate
Austyn Gilette Globe.
Come on, itās exactly the same theyāve just changed the undercarriage.
Still like the shoe, just not so much now.
Itās like youāve just found out that Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy isnāt real
Wonder what the royalty situation is? Hopefully heās getting a full pro-shoeās worth and this isnāt another crafty dodge.
Like Chris Roberts finding out his amazing original twin tail was already a board shape for Malto(?), live on air. Like two mates talking about their new girlfriend and finding out theyāre dating the same girl, oh Crailtap, haha
Keep reaching losers, Iām willing to die on this hill.
Iāve put a blanket down so Iāll probably name it after me.
Itās not your blanket though, itās a pre-existing blanket that youāve rebadged.
I think youāre on to something. Remember the 420 by Marquise Henry? It was marketed as sort of a pro shoe but not quite. The promotional blurbs for that shoe and Knoxās are quite similar in their emphasis on the shoe ācoming from the archivesā:
Straight from the archives, the original ā420ā silhouette from New Balance is one of Marquise Henryās favorite shoes to skate. Seeing him skate the shoe so frequently and so well, Numeric saw this as an opportunity to create a slightly altered, made-to-skate version of it with a newly designed outsole that has a more familiar feel for skatersāespecially ones who skate New Balance Numericās often. And just like that, the NM420 was born.
Introducing the NM600 by Tom Knox. Based on an early '90s NB indoor court shoe from our archives, the Numeric 600 features a FuelCell midsole for a propulsive feel, while the toe has been reinforced with our FantomFit technology for durability and fit. The molded Ortholite insole boosts comfort while the NDurance rubber outsole allows for just the right amount of flexibility and grip.
Our boy Knox is being cheated out of royalties by the NB suits and I am willing to testify to this end in a court of law, should Knox need me (NB please donāt sue me, I have no real idea whatās going on).
I think it looks a great shoe. I see people getting excited about skate shoes that are entirely derivative and are of dubious construction put together with materials that could be better. Same goes for reissues that should be left in the times they came from. I say this as someone who doesnāt wear skate shoes to skate in because, for the most part, I just donāt like them.
Long gone are the days of walking in to a skate shop and finding it hard to pick a shoe because there are so many good options. Now itās hard to pick one because the vast majority of them suck.
There are hardly any original shoe designs to be had and there havenāt been for a long time. So what does it matter if someoneās gone into the vaults to dig out and only slightly modify a decent shoe that actually looks good and would function well?
Itās a shoe with his name on it so consequently itās a pro shoe as far as Iām concerned. Tomās finances and remuneration for said shoe are his own business.
For the first time in a long while I will be buying an actual skate shoe. Itās down to it not looking like a skate shoe and is more up my street in terms of aesthetics and New Balance make quality shoes. Iām stoked on it.
Itās his pro shoe and itās fucking sick
Bravo for getting that in.
I like the shoe as well but Iāll just wait for some other colours I reckon.
The black / gum are nice imho

if they release a black c/w Iāll be tempted
Apologies if that shop isnāt skater owned, it is just for reference
Itās owned by Alvin Singfield, guy who used to work for Faze 7 and ran Panic/Blueprint before Magee took over - donāt worry.
Oh cool, nice to know
