UK SOTY 2025, nominations

As Thrasher trudges through its SOTY schedule, perhaps its time we turn our attention to who has been killing it within the geographic bounds of the United Kingdom (plus Ireland) this year.

As per usual, nominate up to 3 skaters each (I will take only your first 3 suggestions), and I’ll put the suggested names into a poll in a week’s time. Then we can vote for da winner! See if you can use your brains to sift through the detritus of the attention economy in order to recall any skating that happened earlier than yesterday, and please justify your choices if you want.

  • Dale Starkie, mainly for his NB exploits
  • Joe Hinson, for going pro and getting a part on Thrasher

Whilst I back your controversial nomination, you cannot win the prestigious UK SOTY title for stuff like this. Otherwise Fos or someone would have won several times over!

Backing Blondey. Went from dislike to instantly watching anything he puts out and actually finding him quite endearing

For what it’s worth I’m also backing blondey, which is as much as a surprise to me as anyone.

Hinson, only one I’ve met. Seemed down to earth, skates fast, 360 flip lipslid and flip crook the 16ft long flat bar at the local the other night. Also 360 flip nose slid the top of the picnic bench, thats like a 2.5ft high 360 flip :face_with_spiral_eyes:
