Wasn’t Icon Rollersnakes’ in-house price point brand? I know they had a team and all, but weren’t those just a step up from free shit?
They were Snakes based but the boards were decent.

Icon had some good skate bags, just wish they didn’t leave Smedleys how to skate vhs in there as a gift. Couldn’t even swap that for a prison roll up. Ended up used as a rolling mat, blimmed to fuck and covered in cartoon cocks.

I has a 7.4 icon deck once. Only got it as it was the cheapest graphic deck I could find but it was a dope shape and had snappy pop albeit lasted for a bout 10 skated

Icon were from Watsons laminates and they are great boards. I try and find them out and ride them when I can. Tum Yeto boards were always Watsons.
They weren’t the strongest boards but the feel was perfect straight after setup.
I only had that one Icon board, bought from Rollersnakes so makes sense if it was there brand. I presume it got phased out and replaced with Heathen (not sure if that’s still going).
The deck was white with a robot graphic on and probably the reason why I can only skate white decks to this day. Came with Tensor lows and Lucky ABEC 3’s. Those bearings lasted about 10 years and were probably the best investment I ever made…

Heathen was added to make a hesh team and then Snakes got Unabomber so Icon was canned, as far as I know. KeithBeef will know more.
They stopped using Watsons too, Maybe generator wood for Heathen etc. Didn’t like them as much but could ride some shapes ok.
Basically canned the lot now. No one is sponsored anymore since nobody left at the place has much of a clue. I think they still get shirts printed for heathen and unabomber but that’s about it.
Yeah that’s now, I mean back then at the end of Icon.
Oh yeah. They had bought unabober from someone, not sure who. And got Frank, harry, grove, watts, sprout and that guy from Weston supermare on to film urbane mob. At the sime time they started heathen with mark burrows, Paul rimmer, colin adam and maybe some others.
They had still icon going on in the background with smedley, mark vasey and that Welsh guy from redditch. But wound this down slowly and they eventually stuck smedly on unabomber when everyone else had given up on it.
Looking back they supported quite a lot of people around the mid 2000’s.

Ah yeah, Matt was a rad dude, probably the best mongo skater ever. I bumped into him at a zoo im Penbrokeshire a couple of years ago.
