What I said was that I went outside the ‘skate talk only’ rules on some things I thought would be uncontroversial. Probably I shouldn’t. One was what it feels like to have Covid and how long it takes to get better, in response to a thread started by someone who had it - because I’d had it. I also put up a link to research showing dogs love their owners, if I remember rightly. And then there was the misjudged picture of a haystack made to look like the queen, which I now see could have been taken as some kind of political statement. That was a bad move.
Then there was trans skater post. Yes, I knew that would be controversial, because it’s controversial in most sports right at this moment. But I thought that was acceptable because it was about skating and it affects skate competitions. Yes, people are going to have strong views, but there’s no agreed ‘right’ view on this.
There’s a certifiable, confirmed ‘wrong’ view on this though, which is yours, and you know it. Otherwise you wouldn’t be constantly trying to rile people up with it.
Your whole, “Oh, I’m just saying” is so insulting and unconvincing. Just like these pretend ‘apologies’ you keep having to post now.

I mean, let’s not forget you worked on the Brexit campaign. You are computer literate and able to communicate ideas, you’re just patronising here because you’re pretending not to when everybody knows these aren’t silly mistakes, they aren’t fumbled mis-posts from some old idiot, they’re snidey, deliberate posts, posted by somebody who knows exactly what they’re saying and doing.

Here is my response. Again.
It doesn’t matter that you felt those things were uncontroversial or not.
It doesn’t matter what your stance is on Covid.
It doesn’t matter that one would be hard put to see a crap effigy of the Queen as one thing or another.
The simple fact is that you were quite clearly told not to involve yourself or post around anything other than skate. But you did.
Whether is was in agreement with other or for fun or anything else…it doesn’t matter.
A rule was put in place to try to deescalate what is going on and you once again decided you would just do whatever you wanted anyway.
…and then when you do discuss skate, you decide the Trans debate is the one to go for with a post you knew was controversial, as you say.
You are quite openly telling me you ignored the rules and that you knowingly threw something controversial out there.
I think I have been more than fair. Over and over again.
This is such a waste of time because either you don’t care or you just love starting these flame wars.
I also asked you to give me one single reason as to why we shouldn’t ban your account and and future accounts forever. And you’ve ignored that.
I’m trying to protect this community because we have lost users who have been on here for a long, long time and also make sure there are as many voices as possible here. It can be tricky and that’s fine. But that is why rules get put into place.
Regardless of your stance on any subject, you have broken those rules explicitly laid out for you after so many warnings that “this is the last time”.
Where do we draw the line? Once everyone is gone? This is a 20 year old community which is in the worst shape it has been, ever. And the one person sat in the middle of that seems to be you.

I think there’s a lot of sense in this. It’s no big deal to share a forum with someone you disagree with. And if you think, ‘fucking old dinosaur,’ that’s fine. I quite like having my views challenged. Not abuse, but disagreement. It’s good. It makes me think.

Wasn’t going to post on anything outside of the reason I came back but I couldn’t resist clicking.
I’ll be leaving this account afterwards. I still have a little lurk, mainly to keep up with footage but I keep it limited. I’m happy not posting but I WOULD like to say that, it’s not the odd culprits in the minority that are the problem, or reason that this place is less fun and inviting. It’s the general movement and skew of attitudes throughout people on here, the aggression, the lack of thorough reading before reacting. People have a view and they argue that view with preconception and blindness to what’s being said in front of them. Cherry picking arguments taking them wildly out of context to get your point across, again and again. We are all culprits, I put myself in that camp too and I didn’t like it. this place is small scale but it still feels like the wedge has been driven in and the divide and conquer is in full swing.
EVERYONE needs to re-evaluate I feel. The beef is fun, the deep anger is not, it’s needlessly stressful and there is no point to it.
