Exactly, there was not that much talk of the clothes for them being clothes.
ha, all good man, i’m not/never as riled as my posts allude.
Sorry I took it more as someone influencing a certain style.
Like Dill and his long socks. Not that it caught on.
Literally all of modern skateboarding is about moving product, that’s the whole reason these videos even exist. Vans make clothes and shoes, the team are basically models.
If you’re not in it for street league or comp winnings, you’re sponsored and paid to be in photos and magazines so nerds like us can talk about what everyone’s wearing and buy it all so we can try to make ourselves look like Crockett or Dylan or whatever.
I forgot what my point was. I think it’s “of course we’re talking about clothes”.
If Gilbert has retired those legendary massive chinos he should donate them to the Smithsonian.
You’re lucky. I’d say about a quarter of my waking thoughts are spent on trousers.
I’m still wearing shorts and flip flops every day.
I go to the shop with shorts, flip flop, hoodie and beanie.
Winter up top, summer down below.
I really really hate flip flops. Most uncomfortable footwear ever
Hugo Lebowski.
I’ve definitely been to the shop looking more homeless than that.
But not as cool.
Haha great to see this getting brought up, I suppose no proper discussion on skate trousers is truly complete until Smolik’s innovation is covered.
Same era, similar funny vibe. Some of the clips in here are ridiculous for phone footage.*
*feel like I should point out this part is pre-Instagram video as there’s a certain barometer for what’s phone-worthy and ‘proper clip’-worthy which came with that…
Great pic and great garm colours, I approve.
Watched that ‘Out There’ episode with my Mrs. She said “Who is this dick?” and “You can tell he’s a dick because he’s taken his vest off and put a shirt on but left it unbuttoned”
She’s a keeper.
Watched the out there thing and it kinda makes you feel bad for having an opinion, he’s clearly a normal dude with his fair share and no real direction, like anyone else but it does seem harsh to be spouting shit about people you don’t know, but at the same time, it’s out there to be seen, not everyone is going to like what you do.
Honestly, I don’t even think i’d have a problem with him at all if he just untucked his tops haha.
Original thread topic has evolved into something strange haha.
Not into the Dickies with the logo patch halfway down the leg.
