Andy Mac Trying To Pull A Rusedski

It’s a bit YTS.

Enjoyed what I got to see.

Daughter, 8 - “Why do they have long hair?”
Son, 6 - “because they’re RAD…and SICK!”

Watched a bit with my mrs and she saw Andy Mac surrounded by young hairy boys and assumed he was a special needs case that was allowed to skate in the kids group

What was the name of the trick that Andy Mac did that they weren’t allowed to say the name of? The sort of footplant to disaster type thing

What happened to Hallford and J Thax? They’re always at these sorts of events and don’t get anywhere, despite everything I’ve seen of them being utterly mindblowing.

Seeing Thackeray in an open waistcoat absolutely fucking around an Olympic park at 100mph is something I need.

Rumour has it they can’t do 180 late 360 reverts 3 feet below the coping.

^ ^ That’s my most meeeow bitter old man post of all time.

Watched about 15 minutes of it.

Had all the excitement/ambience of a mini ramp comp run alongside a village fete by your local vicar who may or may not be a nonce.

The way I read this the first time felt like you were implying this was the energy Anon was giving out on the broadcast.

Absolutely not.

Massive love for Anon and LA trying to put a legit spin on what is otherwise pretty non legit.

Last time out, 5 skaters got funding to help them qualify. Hopefully that will be more this time round because we won a medal in 2021.

Based on yesterday, who would you guys fund? Do you just back the winners or do you go for youth? Is their an ethical issue in using UK Sport funding to finance American-born skaters? Obviously Sky Brown got us a medal last time and didn’t compete yesterday. Do you give her funding again or let her sponsors take care of it?

I think Andy Mac said they’d announce the Skateboard GB team in a month. Still the street event to go, but they only funded one street skater last time (Decunha).

Wondering whether it’s acceptable for a fat, 35 year old neverbeen who couldn’t drop in in the deep end of that bowl to reply to this by dunking on 12 year old girls. Probably not.

The frontside flip melon guy was quite good.

That girl Lola Tambling was pretty good , had a decent style, liked the front rock slide, front feeble and she gapped out from the deep to the extension.

Some of the others were a bit too shite to be on tele really, give em a few more years and I’m sure they’ll be golden but a kick turn shouldn’t be a staple of your run ¯_(ツ)_/¯

All of it is good but the last line is a Mortal Kombat fatality.

Can we not just get Andy Scott to come out of retirement?

I quite liked the fact that Andy Mac’s chances were kind of scuppered by the crapness of the tiny bowl: welcome to UK skateboarding.

Yeah. It made him appearing seem even odder, given he was already skating against 4 foot children. Add in a 6 foot bowl and it was like he was skating a pond.

Maybe that’s why they have Masters categories, so you don’t have to see this weird height difference between the contestants
