Harsh on Casper, damn. Kind of get his point on the Southbank footage but I love seeing people do fast basic tricks.
I really like Joa but heās fucking clueless about anything not directly related to his experience.
I know that is the point of him but stillā¦
Yeah Iām a massive Joa fan and watch all his shit but when I watched this Baker review stream live I just found it quite bland and he missed the mark quite a bit. The start of the OāDwyer rap was promising though.
Gifted Haterās only any good in his video essays, his live stream stuffs always a bit shit. Heās fallen into a a trap whereby he got famous for speaking his mind on stuff so now thinks everyone wants to hear him speak his mind on everything all the time. And more often than not what he has to say is weak
He works so much better when heās got a purpose or theme to his stuff, he just blurts out any old shit on livestream reviews and it shows how clueless he is.
I get that, but I donāt think he is completely clueless. Havenāt watched this yet though.
I do find it ironic that he has a lot of āinterestingā opinions but did a 50-50 kickflip it out in his part
I am unsure why he hates quick foot shit so much. Throwing a lot of shade at Knox recently.
Iām still paying for his patreon and that wonāt change so I guess Iām the sucker.
Not completely no but does say things with an air of authority that are just wrong. Most recent example his comments on Casper being too into himself when heās has multiple interviews talking about mental health struggles, not feeling worthy to be on Baker etc.
That one stuck out as I just recently read his interview but calls into doubt a lot of the assumptions he makes about people
Heās definitely not completely clueless but as you say he has fixed views on stuff like āfast foot skatingā which arenāt fully formed viewpoints they just seem to be part of the bitchy character heās playing.
I think itās good that someone can play the bitch and say things like āTailslide fakie flip switch shove at a skatepark isnāt good enoughā and I think thatās fair if you are contrasting that with the other stuff in Casperās part.
But yeah as Haven says the comments on how much heās feeling himself doing a bigspin just veer off into pointless bullying.
I fail to see what was wrong with that bigspin. Iād kill to do one like that.
Yer not particularly cool!
Made a good point about the music. The Foy part was amazing, probably best in the video but the first song was cringe. He was very harsh on Caspar while loving some of his clips. Some of Casparās clips were so incredible that itās not like his whole part can be like that. Is every clip gonna be as good as the long blunt slide at mach 10 flip out? Due praise for the boss.
I like Gifted Hater and to be fair thatās a live stream shooting the shit rather than a video on his channel.
Mad late to the party on this one.
I liked yer man O Dwyer from Philly, I saw some rough cut edit of his recently and it was sick.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed to find out that the super stylish Milano Centrale local with the glasses is not called Masamilliano Frodoccini or Maurizio Balduconi. I had been wondering for ages who that dude was as he rips.
Always keen on Jacopi Capozziās kickflips.
Great to see Jamie Foy still going hard on big rails.
Somebody metioned the Fat Bill style filming - Casper Brookerās 360flip at Threadneedle St was ruined by some really, really shit dad cam filming. Savage part otherwise.
Overall it was really good. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Pure and simple skating, no fucking about.
Kind of agree with GH about the ollie-shuv-bs flip line. It was quick footed for quick footedās sake - no one really wants to see a push it shuv in the middle of a line.
Another thing GH failed to mention was the use of the straight blunt at the Jkwon gap ledge in the middle of Casperās part when his ender was blunt flip there. That felt a bit odd.
Obviously these minor quibbles have completely ruined the video for me and I will never watch it again.
Loved the Banned in the USA track for Foy. It felt well trashy so fit perfectly for me. Baker videos need a few of those moments.
I think heās got a bit of a chip on his shoulder due to him being slightly English himself.
I also think heās a massive weenie moaning child man. Some things he says are funny, but itās largely just moaning now as a career.
Disagree about The casper roadgap line, it seems simple but just look at the style in how he does it, that shove-it made it.
Not sure what GHās deal is with quick footed stuff, have you seen his skating? heās all over quick footed, sticking in stinking added noodles.
He is way off the mark with most stuff to be honest. Heās not that aware but he does have good delivery.
He is right though, too many nose slides
Donāt bring that tit Sting into this
Yeah agree, I really enjoyed that trick - in terms of quick footed skating it made sense in the context of the spot.
I donāt. Caspers (and Jensens similar line from an older AD) line is wild. 3 ābasicā tricks, sure. But clearing that first road gap needs a lot of speed. And then its 10-12 feet till the next gap.
Jendogs revert was mad enoughā¦but a push it? I feel like youād slam 100 times before it all worked out.
That line was a highlight.
Maybe its another āYou need to know that spotā deal?
I like GH and he opened my eyes to some Tom Knoxisms i was blind to so i was worried heād do the same with Casper. Nope, completely disagreed with everything he had to say.
