Not as good as Shrimp Blunt though
Havenāt gotten too far into it yet, but Elissaās part is fucking great.
If you told me when I started skating, eventually Iād be watching a street part from someone older than my Mum I wouldnāt have believed you.
Actually I think I posted a bit too soon. I was only part way through and itās actually getting a bit tiresome. Damnā¦Iām not sure any more. Is this even a Baker video? Itās a video of two halvesā¦wack Supreme music and skating and good Baker stuff.
Sheās so rad.
Just enjoyed a proper full length on a big TV whilst drinking a couple of beers. Ads were a bit intrusive but fuck it, if I want a DVD/BR experience thatās Ā£25-30 and this was free. Steamer, Casper and Foy and Reynolds. Younglings ripping.
just watched. absolutely 100% a baker video. true to its self.
elissa part will go down as a benchmark in history for the next 5 generations i reckon.
casper, reynolds, zion and foy all ridiculously good.
greco, just ridiculous.
fucking great
edit: iād never heard this before so very stoked that the same skate video viral infestation process that led me to buy minutemen lps still works.
Overall great video but the Supreme style stuff was a distraction and completely out of place. Just my opinion obviously Iām sure young people love it
What is the Supreme style stuff? Not sure I spotted it.
Canāt remember but at some point my attention drifted and I found myself posting on here. Weird for a Baker vid Iām normally hooked. I looked back at the vid and it felt like pasted in Supreme clips. May have been partly the booze to blame but anyhow it veered back into Baker territory before long.
I could have happily not seen that part with the pants and the wallie 5050 attempts.
Did feel a bit Baker Bootleg though
Biggest negative in the video was so many fucking noseslide nollie flips. Is that the new āfake techā trick?
Apart from that I loved every minute of it. A real video featuring something for everyone.
The filming, editing and all riders head to toe in Supreme gear
Strobeck likely filmed most of Sullyās clips.
Really interesting to see how the different generations skate in this. The low impact older heads, the handrail and stair skating of the dudes in their 30s and late 20s, then the more inventive stuff of the younger dudes.
Gonna go for a rewatch, or at least a skip through, as I canāt remember the younglings names but thatās mostly the beer to blame
Currently watching it.
Someone just did a Chetty-T (hardflip back nosegrind) followed by a varial flip 5050 which is just obscene levels of illegality
Thoughts:
Zion - nice tres but seems like one of those classic Baker kids who isnāt quite ready yet.
Elissa - goated. Great song and so sick she grinded the whole length of that ledge.
Max - Terrible trousers.
Brian - a few too many modern filming crimes in here but great clips. Front feeble was so sick.
Sully - as some people have said it felt like this was slotted in from another video. Filming on the roof drop off was cool tho, but overall it felt jarring.
Figgy - feel like people forget how good he was/is.
Started to fast forward around this point tbh.
Caspar - this is more like it! Feels like heās levelled up. Tre at Bank of England was so good. Best part.
Spanky - Enjoying his refusal to ollie after age 35.
Dickson - heās never been on my radar really but enjoyed his part a lot.
Ellington skating to ghostface was tight.
Reynolds might just be the actual greatest.
Foy had probably the highest level skating. Front nose wall jam was a surprise.
Island in street montage actually felt like Baker.
Overall: Could have cut about 20 mins. Too many montages and some of the filming felt disjointed. Casper, Oādwyer and the OGs were highlights for me.
Solid part in Made Chapter 2! Ender was ace in that so I sent it to some mates and one sent back a link to Jaws doing something big and smelly in response which completely proved that the said recipient didnāt have a clue. I know, cool story.
I wonder if Dickson was just outshined in previous vids? In this I felt he had the best or at least one of the best parts. His flick is beautiful.
Yeah possibly. I think itās also because I donāt know anything about him, donāt think Iāve ever read an interview with him, so heās just passed me by a bit. Heās felt quite low key compared to say, Figgy or Romero, despite having pro shoes and multiple parts.
I canāt get past the alcoholic Vietnam vet cosplay.
