For me it’s how long this act has been going on now, showing up to a demo or two and taking this piss a bit, fine, but it’s been years of this. It’s almost moved on from cringe or embarrassing now, it’s actually really quite odd.

Totally. He always goofed off.
But it was always backed up with un-fuck-withable parts, photos, etc. Or even just dope looking, classic tricks on good spots.
That whole side balanced it out before it disappeared a decade ago.

For me it’s not the cringey goofing off, it’s the perceived lack of effort going into the skateboarding that surrounds it.
There was a quote in an old copy of TWS from 2000 about the Gonz that I can only paraphrase without the issue to hand, but it’s something along the lines of him making skateboarding look silly, but never stupid with his goofing around. Koston makes it look stupid. Stupid and contrived. Stupid, contrived and low effort.
