These are another outlet selling on decathlon under Swag Distribution LTD

But yeah, all observations, should be obvious to go to the correct dudes.

My folks bought my first skateboard from AllSports :man_shrugging:t2:

It had an alien on it.

I agree absolutely. They are so huge their economies of scale / purchasing power mean they can undercut everyone. Joe Public generally don’t care about the personalised experience that a local shop can give. They will have just decided that they need a 105 specced bike and unfortunately you can’t get one cheaper anywhere else

Been riding my bike more than I ever did when it was new. It was a cheap one nearly 20 years ago and I’ve replaced the wheels, tyres saddle and breaks (with equally as budget parts). Feels nice for me though.

Just named it the Maltese Falcon.

Might change the forks and handle bars eventually. Just for shits and giggles.

Sorry for the French content but it appears Paris has completely fucked cyclists, pedestrians and I guess drivers by making a dangerous mess of designated paths and roads in preparation for the Olympics. I’m expecting a few dead and injured by the end of August… yikes!

Just unlocked a forgotten memory. What was the brand name of those? Did it have a logo on the grip in like a circle?

All my friends had one as their first boards before we got our first skate shop completes. My first skateboard before my first proper complete was actually a Mongoose skateboard bought from a bike shop for £30

United skates! Yeah that was it.

Everyone had absolutely thrashed, waterlogged, really heavy United skates completes for like 10 months before they got their first completes for Christmas

Hahh yes lad!

It was one of them where you tell your folks you want to start skateboarding, so they get you a cheap shit one to see if you’re actually going to stick with it.

First proper set up was a Christmas complete from DAI (a shop that also sold guns). Powell Mini Logo deck, Gullwing trucks, black (greebo!) mini logo wheels.

First deck I bought from Ideal with my pocket money was a Unabomber Gimp. Folks were a bit confused when I came back home with that!

I’m 99% sure it was Tattoo Lewis who sold it me. I still skate with him regularly at Bournbrook!

@neddy get a 52 frame not a 54, 52 will be perfect size, 54 could be too big

Ok mate will go for that. Purchasing next week.

Any recommendations for a bike for a 12 YO? My son has almost outgrown the highly sensible 7speed hub gear bike he’s had for the past 4 years and I’m looking to get something similar again.

Also Mrs same height, same for her?

This is wicked - nice one @jamjar

Anyone have a longtail cargo bike for carrying kids? Leccy or whatever? I bet @jamjar has some intel on this

Yes, we’ve got a Belgian Bike 43 Alpster for our two kids (6-9)

Advice? Gotchas? Regrets? How far can you comfortably take your kids?

I’ve seen a shitload of these electric ones in South London over the past few years. They look really well designed but are pretty pricey.

If I were to get one I’d go for the basic derailleur version and not the one with a variable range hub gear.

Surly do a non-electric long tail.
