Personally, I think that it did open doors - probably not directly to sponsorship but likely to the building blocks which eventually opened those doors.

Not getting stuck in here but I think LS point is more that coming from money allowed more freedom meaning he can skip school (GCSEs/A Levels aren’t as much of a concern) and spend all his time at SB where he got to know Palace guys/ get to skate a lot & improve.

I think that some opinions are hindered by not knowing the guy and some are hindered by knowing the guy, we can’t understand how each other has come to their conclusions because they don’t see them that way personally.
That’s all fine, we should all just maybe take this into account though and accept it.
If you have new equipment all the time and someone has second hand, barely useful equipment do you not think that might give someone an edge?
