Yeah half way through Churchill one last night, v good. I used to really like Rad on the telly. I think the time is really right for something similar now.

Love that rainy handrail ,box or whatever it is cover. That period of the mag was great and helped me get fully back into skating after a few years in the booze wilderness

I’d guess that advice would’ve been given not to say potentially libellous things on video.
I have zero insight into this but I’m guessing, plus Geoff was up in the comments of the trailer with the Fox bit in it disputing what was said.

I’ve lurked on here for years and thought I should finally sign up. We met years ago in Leeds. I was skating in the early/mid 90s in Leeds (inc. Rehab / Wakey) and then variously in the North East, and lots of other places. Thanks for all your work on the mag by the way, I always really enjoyed your writing. I still have a copy of ‘The Golden Bough’ after you recommended it in print (I think).

Yeah, we took that bit out to avoid any unneeded attention coming ours, Wuzels or Fox’s way from Geoff. It’s always a fine line when editing the podcasts cause it’s not my history to tell or to put out there on blast, so sometimes when I’m editing them I’m a little bit cautious as to what will cause a fuss or not - so this time just felt suitable to remove something.
Not a lot of details were discussed about the situation, it was pretty breezed over so no one really missed too much!

I guess it’s not his story to tell? But he’ll try and tell it anyway, haha! The fact he has no problem trying the throw Penny under the bus with some personal information kind of shows a bit about his character. Would you want him talking about your personal stuff too?

Totally fair enough, i’m sure it was the right decision to cut it. I imagine it caused a few raised eyebrows after you included it in the trailer. Who knows if its true or not…
BTW, thanks for all your work on these pods, i’ve really enjoyed them. Shipman one was fantastic - he’s obviously a legend but i’ve not heard him speak much over the years. I really liked hearing his perspective

Wasn’t so much as issue I think he just thought we didn’t go into as much detail as we should’ve but Pete is a very quiet bloke - so it caused some ruckus in the Deathbox Facebook group which was resolved in a positive way and we ended up getting Wurzel on out of it.

enjoying the Wurzel episode a lot. i saw his boards in magazine ads, but dont think i’d seen his skating - good to fill in details from the 80s.

I enjoyed that and I’d not even heard his name before. It’s actually amazing how much of a rise and fall Adio had but it was good to hear about all the stuff going on behind the scenes when it was at its peak.
