Cars

Can anyone suggest the best way of selling my car quickly? Not sure I trust these sites like Carwow and Webuyanycar etc as from what I’ve heard/read, they’ll give you a decent price and then drop it shit loads when they actually come to get it.

Just need my car gone asap really as getting a new one

Facebook, I sold my old Golf within an hour (no MoT on it either.)

WBAC can be worth a shout if time is a factor, you just make an appointment, take it to them and they’ll give you a price, you don’t have to take it and you know you’ll have no other hassles.

Cheers fellas

I’ve used wbac was a piece of piss. As long as you describe car accurately there should be no reason for them to drop price.

Also shop about, there was difference if about 400 quid between these instant buy sites.

Important update.

I used wbac for a car that literally broke down as I parked it up in their car park and they were pretty decent about price considering it was a total heap

I’d expect it to be returned to standard spec for that kind of money.

I actually ended up using a company called Flipit and they were really good. Offered me a much higher price than the other quick sale sites and the process was really easy. Dude came to check the car, spent five minutes looking at it and then sent me an email link for the payment. Got the money in my account within 2 mins and then he took the car right away.

Woah!

It was a no from me until I saw the glitter ball.

If it had been the fiat panda skatepark from the Westwood ones I might have been more interested.

Edit: I’ve changed my mind. :grimacing:

Have a good couple of hours out this evening. Tried to do a few bits on repeat. I have a short attention span normally and rarely try anything more than twice.

Exhaust snapped/fell off on the way back from parents evening tonight.

Who’d of thought 20 years on those seats would have inspired Lucien Clarke‘s DC pro shoe?

I think it would be a smart buy for Palace. I could see Lucien driving this in a skit picking up all the boys to drive through Maccies.

I find it pretty fascinating how in just over 2hrs a frame becomes a fully functioning truck.

Any EV drivers on here?

Going to look at a couple cars on Saturday,

Any charger recommendations/avoids?

My main house fuse is 60a, guessing this needs upgrading to 100a, anyone had any issues with this regarding installation?

We had a pod point charger that lasted for five years, so not great. Have a hypervolt now and it seems okay, works with octopus tariffs etc. Not sure on the deal with house electrics.

I got a Tesla charger in the post long before my car arrived and I booked a charger install with these guys https://www.ev-wales.co.uk/ at a quoted price of £825.

After booking, they rang me and told me to apply for grant which was literally just entering my address and email into a form online. It gave me a code which I gave to them and reduced the price to £475.

When they came to install it they realised I had a 60A fuse so they applied to the National Grid on my behalf for an upgrade. The National Grid contacted me a few days later and then came round and uprated me to 100A for free.

A few days after that EV-Wales ran a test on my supply, gave it the ok, and sent me my installation certificates in the post.

It was super easy and I haven’t had any issues at all.

Had someone crash in to me on Friday. My insurance put me in touch with a ‘Claims Management’ company.

It seems so criminal, they wanted me to sign a contract where I’d be liable for £280 a day for a hire car if they couldn’t recover costs from the other side.

The mad thing is they put me through as if I was still on the phone to my insurers.

It’s an absolute scandal isn’t it?! It happened to my Mrs when someone hit our car and we had a courtesy car whilst the repairs were being done.
