Just went to get a puncture repaired and the boss of the place had this mash up in there doing some work on it:

Widearch cars with tyres that stick out a bit look just as ridiculous as skateboards with wider trucks than board!

Best car I have or will ever own. Put 8k incredible and naughty miles on it during Covid and sold it for nearly exactly what I had in it. The bored to 600 engine combined with what amg did to the cams/timing in those days made it a real handful. I prefer driving cheaper ones though. I have three lovely cars thar are worth a fifth of this one put together.

An epic car, well done for both owning and getting out of it suitably!

I had the 9" Borbet A’s on my MK2 many moons ago

There she is now, on the Aldi carpark session.

Oh is it my time to play?

My 87 MK2 polo. no air con, not fun.

Old men love it, everyone else makes jokes.

I had one of them, not this one but basically exactly like it. Was actually my brother’s but I just took it off him

No way. I had a white e reg polo. I put the cheapest cd player from halfords in it and never got around to fitting the speakers in the parcel shelf. Sk they were just loose in the footwell on the passenger side. Still worked fine.

Reminds me of my first whip. Mk1 Fiesta made in the same year I was born. Paid £100 for it the added all the kit to make it look like a XR2. Never managed to get my license when I had it so would only drive it when my old man was with me. Even had a cd player. Wish I still had that car.

Poor car was enjoying it’s retirement when I got it, 76,000 km and only about 1500 a year since 2010, I’ve put 50k on it in 2 years as my daily driver but it’s not skipped a beat.

My friend Peter who is an absolute legend has been letting some of his beautiful Benz’s go in recent years. He runs the company Audio Note who make the nicest sounding amplifiers. Our take on analog cars is in step with our views on analog audio equipment.

( he starts talking about the motors around half way in )

I love mk1s I had one for a bit. My friend had one so that inspired me to get one. If I had the space and money I’d love another. One is the brown/gold one and his with my mini.

That’s so good. Any more pics of it?

That green really suits it

Somewhere, not to hand unfortunately

But I have a pic of another MK2 I had with a later 2.0 16v abf conversion

Plus a bonus MK1 my mate owned
