Well then fuck that haha
Yeah exactly what and why I did it, by the time subtracted the fuel difference it was about the same amount to finance average 4yr old car. Open to keeping it 2 years, selling it and starting again or keeping it for the 5yr loan.
Took the kids climbing yesterday and there was an Aston Martin Rapide parked outside. Fucking spectacular thing.
Colour? Get any pics?
Was one for sale at a dealer i follow on IG in a very tasty green colour. Was either reserved before they put the ad up or within 8 minutes of posting, I’d wager the former. Someone’s doing alright.
There’s a big house near mine that has the two car garage of a Boxster 4.0 and a Rapide. The only issue is they’ve gone silver on grey for the Boxster and standard black on the Rapide, but what a two car garage that is.
Put a deposit down on a Cupra Born yesterday, a late december 2022 car, 6400 miles and 1 former keeper. There have been loads of ex-lease cars released onto the market recently which means they are pretty good value as a used buy. We intend to keep for 5 years and it should pay for itself in around 3.5. Drove nice and I can see how EV’s have a following.
The charger for the car was installed yesterday and the car charged overnight. Really good - I think 60% charge was around £2.50 and will probably only need to charge next weekend. If you’re on the fence they’re worth a try - in a nutshell we do a lot of short journeys which were utter madness in a 3l diesel. I think I can cover roughly the same number of miles on £10 worth of electric vs £200 in diesel.
Now the market is being flooded with low mileage ex-lease cars, they’re making a little more sense once the initial depreciation has been taken into account.
Just committed to a brand new Geely EX5 today. Probably going to do a 3 year lease on it.
Was tossing up between that and a Zeekr 7X (Australia is getting lots of Chinese EVs at the moment). Couldn’t justify the extra for the Zeekr sadly with the kids and needing a family run around that’s gonna get trashed.
My wife wouldn’t let us get green though which I kinda loved.
they own Volvo as well, right? Interested to know how you go with it - need to size up from my T-Cross at some point.
Mercedes use Geely engines and tech.
Saw a Jaecoo at a shopping centre, they used (shit) vinyl to wrap the pillars and done a bad job, the guy said they all come like that…..
Mate of mine has a BYD Seal. Every time I hear the cars name I think of that kiss from a rose song ![]()
If it has custom lock sounds id totally have it blast BAAAABBYYY!!
I had James Brown on my 3 for a while haha
Will keep the thread updated.
and yeah Geely own a whole heap of brands now. Polestar too. Lots of their stable were tempting, but everyone in my family is so used to disrespecting our existing car, it would be silly to get something too nice.
Ha, they’re so cheap and horrible looking on paper. Temu range rovers.
And on the road. To be fair most modern cars look a bit shit haha
Chery - Owner of Jaecoo/Omoda are in partnership with JLR to build all the Jags and Range Rovers in China.
Its like they knicked the evouge drawings and made it even shitter
Would be great if they could improve the JLR reliability though!
RR sport, best car I ever had,
RR Sport, the shittest car I ever had.
I think that’s just how they will always be!
I think so, the only person I know with a new Defender has had multiple bits replaced now including the engine.
Still, if it’s under warranty and you can afford it then all should be well.
