Took one for a spin, literally felt like driving a really soft, floaty tank. Was super comfy but didn’t feel right tbh. Couldn’t tell where the car was half the time, or how much road I was taking up.
So I’ve totally bottled it, went to Toyota and just put a deposit down on a newish Corrola for the same budget. Totally different car but I love it. Captain sensible over here.
Sorry not sorry. I don’t think Iv ever been so happy driving a car in my life. Should have owned this when I was 22 and not 32 but fuck it I’m so hyped. I know it’s a different level but I understands why @anon83623327 was so hyped when he got that Benz, this year? Or last.
57 plate so it can use E10. I’m just going to run it on V Power until I have no money left. Need to finish off saving for the deposit on our house as well. (Although that’s now reserved for us). Quick google, better for the engine. Sounds good to me.
Like @anon83623327 said E10 is bad for old cars especially ones that do less mileage. The ethanol absorbs water over a long period of time. It also can degrade fuel older fuel hoses and other rubber or plastic components, particularly in things like carbs.
99 octane has a higher calorific count so you get more energy for the fuel burned. Modern cars are made to run on a range of fuels because of the fuel available in different markets. That said newer cars with various sensors can adapt to changes so you might see some gain but not necessarily noticeable. If you have a modified performance car that’s tuned/set up to run on higher octane fuel then you’d see a difference using something else. And then you get into things like higher octane offering better protection against knock but that’s a bit OTT
