Bless! My first rescue cat was a tripod, we called her mills. After Heather mills .
It’s amazing how well they adapt whith a missing leg .
My old neighbours had a 3 legged cat after being hit by a car, it was still able to catch squirrels and bring them back into the house. Unfortunately one was still alive with puncture wounds . My neighbours spent the entire day cleaning squirrel claret off most of the walls and surfaces when it stopped playing dead and bolted .
This one was always out catching birds, mice, dead, half dead, anything he can get his paws on. This is our second cat to be hit by a car as well. Different houses both in quiet areas, not near main roads.
He’ll be ok!
One of mine got hit last year, multi fractured pelvis and leg, all ligaments in hock snapped.
Wish I went the amputation route.
Had a specialist plate the rear leg after taking bone and ligaments away. It never healed right and cost LOADS.
IM waiting for it to break again, then it’s coming off.
My wife found my ‘daughters’ cat lying in the middle of the road when my daughter was a couple of months old. She turned around just to move the body so it didn’t get squished, but he was alive and not much older than two months. After leafleting around for the owner and Some time in the vets later we brought him home. Basically he had a smashed jaw which was sewn together. As my daughter was a baby at the time they’re roughly the same age and love each other to bits.
Our other cat is 16 this years and starting to go a bit senile. Poor lad!
Our other cat had that. She didn’t come home one night tried the usual calling her name, shaking food etc. I left the window open for her and came down in the morning and her jaw was hanging off. It had to grt wired back together and then fed through a tube.
My wife entered our dog into a competition at the local pet shop a few months ago and then promptly forgot about it. Then it pops up a couple of weeks ago and she’s become obsessed with winning it. With that in mind would those of you with Facebook do me a favour and give Buzz a like here please? We’re currently in second and it’s doing her head in!
He’s fully healed now. He had his stitches out yesterday. He is still really hesitant around me, which is expected after every time I go near him it was either to go to the vets or to give him meds. He’s warming to me though, and missing a leg doesn’t seem to have bothered him.
Yeah one of my uncle’s cats was a tripod and it didn’t stop him from doing anything. When I used to feed them when my uncle went on holiday it used to blow my mind to watch him climb trees and that.
My eldest cat pissed all over my brown/gum Aves last night. I’m really annoyed about it but he’s getting a bit senile now. Not sure what to do with them at the moment, but I want them clean and not smelling like cat piss.
