What a rogue’s gallery (putting it politely) of cameos! Except Hawking, he’s alright, as far as I know

Got to admit it’s impressive, it almost looks like an actual trashy generic movie.

It looks like a version of Kung Fury trying to be 2026, serious and cool. But not quite.

More quality Ed slagging. He’s right about the media just repeating utter bs about ai I reckon

Parenting x AI cross thread.

My son wants a check list printing for his Fuggler* collection. OK, I’ll sort on out. Wonders off to ChatGPT. Gets a list, it looks shit, bit more prompting, exclude the keychains etc and sorted a pdf checklist. Print it out.

5 minutes later…Me: “stop bothering your sister, I just printed you the list out!” Him: “Its all fake, AI sucks” :joy:

*fugglers are soft toys with weird teeth

I’ve just noticed in work Slack channel that loads of people are complaining about burning through all of their tokens really quick. Turns out Claude had changed their default model from Sonnet to Opus :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Probably. Or he just can’t spell. Its of those videos that could be said in about a minute but drags it out to 15 but it has a point

I was asked to set up a few things that removed repetitive tasks or saved me time a couple of weeks ago. I’ve gone from Gemini, to Claude, to Claude Desktop, to VSCode with Claude Code within 6 months. I’ve built some fairly useful reporting things to be honest but nothing which really saves me time.

Side of the desk stuff is reviewing all of the database backup and maintenance scripts I wrote back in 2019, the aim being just to find any holes in them or streamline them. Just improve what I already have in place. Main job at the moment is to automate a test restore process on Production database backups which it is still trying to get it right after a days work. I suspect I’m getting close to the time point where a human with good AWS experience could have achieved it manually…it won’t be long before people are gaslit and blamed because their prompts were not effective enough.

Very useful tool. But I feel overhyped. But the company see devs shipping features and releases so fast and it starts to look a little dangerous to me - But I was brought up in a financial services IT environment so mistakes made the news pretty fast :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Well put and that’s very much my experience.

It feels a lot like how things were with agile working which I also think was really useful.

Claude is doing some excellent work for me here. Used Claude Design to audit existing brand website and build out brand rules, tone of voice etc. Created complete design system with UI kit, landing page examples, PDP pages, the works. Then passed to Claude Code (against Gemini CLI) in VS Code to build out the sites.

Claude blatantly winning and gemini still struggling to clear up some local dev server issues for Shopify liquid template. But overall I’m getting stuff done 3x or 4x faster.

Even for building emails I have the horrific task of building linked product grids but now I can just say ‘take the bestsellers from last 30 days and build a product grid’ and I just whack the code block output for the grid into Mailchimp. That alone is at least 30 mins of soul crushing work saved twice a week.

Claude Design is fucking epic.
