Anyone of you tried photoshop generative fill yet?

Not sure if that’s a good video on it. We were testing it the last few weeks and its jokes

is that on the beta?

Yep apparently only on beta currently.

Ah, yeah, he says it in the video. I’d had a few by then and signal is patchy (also at Center Parcs).

I need to get on that Beta. Looks like there isn’t that annoying corner tab that Adobe Firefly has…

I do, have mentioned it here before I’m sure

I’ve never know how to pronounce Adobe. Is it like abode or like a-dough-bee.

Can you please set me straight.

Ah-doh-bee :joy:

Fuck yeah! Code interpreter should be rolled out to all plus customers now

Watched this episode of South Park and it was, as usual, on point and very funny especially as they use chatgpt to write some of the episode

So this is what the future of A.I is doing today for my industry, loads of films on hiatus this week and next , some films and dramas stopped completely. Thousands of crew out of work and some already have been for a couple of months as productions won’t start till it’s sorted .

Next week at leavesden studios the drama I’m on will be the only job in production as we’re near the end , but my finish date has been brought forward to the end of august instead of mid September.

It will get resolved eventually but it’s a fuck load of people out of work especially if studios hold off till the new year .

This is before A.I had even started to be fully used in the industry.

It’s good writers and actors are taking a stance on their image/intellectual rights .

It’s all a bit season 6 of black mirror

It’s fucked isn’t it. What jobs are going to be left?

" The paperclip maximizer is a thought experiment described by Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom in 2003. It illustrates the existential risk that an artificial general intelligence may pose to human beings when it is programmed to pursue even seemingly harmless goals, and the necessity of incorporating machine ethics into artificial intelligence design. The scenario describes an advanced artificial intelligence tasked with manufacturing paperclips. If such a machine were not programmed to value human life, then given enough power over its environment, it would try to turn all matter in the universe, including human beings, into either paperclips or machines which manufacture paperclips."

In a way this is nothing new. People in other jobs have had at least a century of this sort of upheaval already and pushing back against automation will always be a losing battle.

Yeah it’s all a bit fucked but predictable.

I’ve been thinking for ages it’s gonna get worse hence my side project skipwood ramps.

I think once the general public realise how bad our industry is at wasting billions of tonnes of virgin wood ( Brazilian is very common) along with all the chemicals , paints and materials all for one time use just for a film/drama that will then literally end up in landfill and if lucky the cardboard/mdf factory .
The eco activists will quite rightly jump on this and put the studios under pressure, guilt trip the virtue signalling actors and the result will be to reduce consumption by making full studio 8k screen sets similar to the mandalorian with loads of A.i generated imagery . That’s is a whole construction industry reduced to the bones to start with .
