We’re on the wind up to it now.

I know my son is going to love this but really this is a present for me.

Loopin Louie. I had it back in the 90s. Finally found one on ebay with all the bits. If it works and has all the pieces I’ll be stoked.

Is it just me or does that look like a certain political symbol?

Oh no! With a bit of paint you could turn it into something really sinister.

That’s rung some bells. Back in the 70’s, through a friend of his, my Dad got to go to a toy expo and picked me up one of these before it was officially released. Nobody had seen one and it blew kid’s minds. I absolutely loved my Big Loader.

Saw this once in real life as a kid. I was so envious of the kid at school who had it

I wonder if Squarepusher had one, or just wanted one

I had the 90s sequel to Big Loader, which was Big Big Loader.

I remember the “road” being grey but that was maybe just imagination doing the heavy lifting. Played with that for hours.

Never saw one in real life but saw it on the telly…

I have no idea how we always had such a good Christmas growing up, we had no money. Well, I do know, my parents went into debt every year to pay for it. Also Palitoy was local and my mum knew people that worked there and that worked at the biscuit factory as well and lots went out the back door of both factories. She would work nights once every 2 weeks and for a while we’d raid her handbag early in the morning as there was a new Star wars figure waiting.
I guess that’s where Big Loader came from as there is no way we could have bought it full price. Didn’t know we were poor at the time ha.

They’re still making it now. I bought it new from a games shop either last year or the year before.

Makes for a pretty fun drinking game.

Well if you smug fuckers with your Big Loaders and Bigtraks are going to post pics, then you can gaze in awe at my Tonka truck with Millenium Falcon on top

Had both as well! Ha!
The Tonka was so tough we used to ride it down our steep drive.
We had LOADS of Star wars and my mum made us give it all to our younger cousins one year and the next summer when we visited, everything was smashed to bits.
I think we must have had things passed on to us as well.

Rad. Exact same here, you’ve just written about my childhood. I remember standing on the Tonka and trying to ‘skate’ down the street. And we also got all our Star Wars stuff given away to younger cousins, I reclaimed that Millennium Falcon some years later (and made sure my mum knew how angry I was about it, even though I was probably 25 at the time)

haha, I still make a dig each chance I get too.

that one christmas where me and my brother got pretty much all of the star wars toys is still my happy place.
