Preston bus station was recently renovated & has a nice plaza at the front as well as still being fully skateable inside
Preston bus station is also the site of one of the UK’s most sought after, and culturally important photobooks, this banger by Jamie Hawksworth- originally published as a newspaper print (iirc) by PPP. Pretty much started his fashion career too!
Landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg created the Brooklyn Banks in 1973, but even he couldn’t predict that they would become so much more than just a pile of bricks. “So kids like to skateboard there now?” he chuckles. “It certainly wasn’t designed with skating in mind… I don’t have a rationale when I design. I went to have a look around there in late 2019 when it was all closed off but before they took away the bricks, got shouted at by various NYPD for trying to get through the fence

Owen Luder’s buildings haven’t had much luck - like the Tricorn, Gateshead’s Trinity Square and the Dunston Rocket have also been demolished
