Those big snow-topped rock looking objects are quite distracting.

This is pretty close to where I grew up, in the Rhône valley, in the Swiss Alps.
When I first went to SF, I visited the MOMA, where I saw a picture of a bridge that’s on this motorway (the road you want me to move), with a triangular mountain in the background. The photo was all about the contrast between the wave-shaped bridge and the rawness of the mountain. It was pretty good.
I had never been that far from where I grew up and definitely didn’t expect to see a picture of my home turf out there in such a famous museum!

Swiss artists and Californian art enthusiasts are gonna be pissed off if I cancel this road.

That’s the normal gap between sessions right?

in a suprising turn of events this spot has been completely redone and made significantly better! there used to be a slight dip before the wall which was made of slippy tiles and also had gaps every 15 feet or so. i did actually snap a plastic drain cover on this one but will be fine with a bit of tape over on the next skate

filmed by the legend dee no less

ages ago someone told me about some wallieable bench in the uni here, spent ages trying to find it and never could until today when i randomly stumble across it in a completely different campus to where i’d been looking

Looks brilliant that - Sunderland campus? I work at newcastle uni n I had to sit through part of a presentation that highlighted how they’d made it as accessible as possible in recent years - removal of stairs n ledges etc and blind bumps everywhere (all fair enough of course) but sad from a skate perspective as the uni used to be a great area to skate

yeah sunderland, st peters campus over the water though - i’d spent forever looking in the main campus in the town center for it instead.

which uni you at? i know there’s a few different campuses around there and some still have spots (sure the one nearest to exi still has those weird Y shaped bench things) though i also gather it used to be a lot better back in the day, one of em had a white hubba or something along those lines? before my time for sure. shame it all got lost but i guess The Core being built made up for it!

Work at newcastle uni main campus in City centre, in pre covid times my office was actually right next to the white hubba you mention. Back in the day it had a lot more spots.

Assuming you mean this hubba - Neil urwin here
Skate stopped now as is most of the campus

@Malanax @dontcomply the 2 stair at Sunderland St Peter’s campus was ny favourite thing to skate for years. Hottest spot of 2006! Felt like Reynolds every time I rolled up to it

im glad you refer to it as a 2 stair because the first time i went there was with a certain skater with a magic pseudonym and he kept fucking referring to it as a “2 block”, biggest letdown when i actually got there

could write a novel with his fucking antics

rofl a block is a block. a stair is a stair. it’s hard to confuse the two really

Tom! I’ve only just realised that this is you…duh! Hope you’ll well.
