Y’all:
Faster than me. Fucks sake.
The oldies have to be that fast around here with our yoofs, haha.
How is everybodys running going now daylight time is reducing and the weather is on the turn?
I never struggle for motivation but fully get that a lot do!! Ran my furthest distance ever yesterday. I’m sore today but nowhere as sore as I expected to be.
Yeah, much prefer the cooler weather, feels like less effort even though my knees really start to feel it.
Had a week off last week on holiday, but hopefully back on it tomorrow. I miss muddy night time forest runs on the way home from work!
Trying for 300km this month, legs feel ok so far.
Is there a Strava group for the forum?
Beast!
There’s a Network 26 one for cycling but no running one… Make one!! Link it here.
the ultimate self Tatchell.
I think I prefer running in the cooler weather as you can layer up. If it’s too hot there’s only so far you can go the other way.
Motivation isn’t usually too bad. It doesn’t often stop me going, but yesterdays run seemed too much effort so I took my bike out - which turned out to be a PITA after all (head wind / puncture / listing things I need to fix or replace).
What sort of distance are you (or anyone) running?
My furthest is 13 miles, needed a day off after that though. It messed with my kness and hip joints a bit. Generally alternate 5 and 10kms but finding that I’m doing 10K more often now.
The good thing about doing anything strenuous outdoors in winter / rain is that it makes me feel like a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus and the afterbuzz from charging through a run/cycle/swim in the pissing rain and wind is hard to beat.
Wow. It makes me feel more like I just got fucked by a tyrannosaurus. Have taken your advice re the biscuits. Missing the biscuits, though.
I run 80k every week over six days road/trails/mountains. Sometimes a little bit more and very occasionally less… Last week i ran 43k as i wanted to be fresh and keen for yesterdays run which was 65k.
Massive props - I thought it would be high numbers, but still!
My furthest run is 4.2 miles, accidently.
I’m currently around 3.5 miles per run - twice a week. On purpose.
I saw the X-ray you posted.
Do you have any mobility in your ankle at all? Looks like it would be tough to even walk.
Well done mate… Your weekly millage is exactly the same as mine was 2.5 years ago… Keep at it.
Currently about 5 miles a week, give or take. Used to run about 15 a week, mostly off road. That was a loooong time ago though.
Thanks Nozzle. I plan / hope to.
I don’t plan to progress to 40 mile runs in 2.5 years time though!
