I keep waiting for the jokes…but there aren’t any. I don’t get it. It is a parody isnt it? This can’t be real.

Finally got round to this and it’s fucking amazing.
Those 20 minute interviews where you think ‘I wish this went on for 2 hours’ well, this is it.
About a thousand stories about everyone.

Loved it.

Has anyone else noticed the amount of AI slop creeping its way on to YouTube’s front page lately? 18 views, no comments news and science type crap? I have a feeling YouTube will become unwatchable with AI channels very soon before they even begin to sort it out (too late as always).

It’s going to be pretty tricky to sort out without making it impossible for new legit creators to break through I suppose.

A friend recently made this, an interview with a now-deceased dry stone waller - discussing the craft, his experiences & more…

Back in Spring 2022, Harry Wheeler got a phone call from local community activist and death doula Mary Clear. She tells him that she’s helping a man out by the name of John Mounsey, “he only has four weeks left to live” and wants to document his last days on film

John takes us through his life of being a Dry Stone Waller and how by integrating Kung Fu into his practice, he has been able to overcome adversity and live a life of poetry, where inner places seem to match and coincide with the physical landscapes he finds himself working in.

That was great, what a lovely piece.

Love a nice stone wall, there are loads of them near our country place and you really get to know a good one from a crap one!

I have a late career aspiration to be a dry stone waller, think it’d be a good life

There’s an old Andrew Weatherall interview, in Jockey Slut I think, where he talks about sacking off DJ-ing techno & picking up walling, which has always resonated
