Covid

You’d have to say it really doesn’t feel like a well oiled and slick global machine is incharge of anything right now or has a clue what they’re doing anymore at this point. Bring on the vaccine wars!

Wife’s gran about to die, after catching Covid in hospital. Her aunt flew over from Jersey (Channel Island) yesterday to see her, and now needs to isolate in her dying mum’s house for two weeks. Now the two other sisters (wife’s mum and aunt) need to decide if they want to see her now, and then not see their own families for two weeks.

Seems like there’s such a backlog with funerals now that a funeral would be after 14 days time anyway.

Fucking nightmare for all involved.

Sorry to hear that man.

Ah Build, so sorry to hear this.

Oh mate, that sounds horrible.

Awful Builda, so sorry.

Ah that’s really rough news man. Thoughts to you, your wife and her family.

Shit man. Sorry for you and the fam Build

Sorry to hear this man.

Sorry to hear it mate

Sorry to hear build. Currently trying to avoid the same situation nan is 96 with severe dementia. Housebound and trying to get someone out to vaccinate her. Fine if she was housebound alone but carers etc in and out throughout the day and in contact with loads of others obviously… but she seems to have slipped through the vaccination net as she can’t even get in and out of a car to go and get it done. Not very steady on her feet and one fall is going to wind her up in the same predicament. No vaccine,96 and in hospital. Managed to get her on a list yesterday for home call vaccine after houses of phone calls. No idea how long the list is or when its happening but its some progress.

Sorry to hear again build . Thoughts with your fam

Captain Tom has died. RIP.

Thanks everybody. She got the last rites last night, and then again today. Not sure why, but I know it’s not promising.

I hope Captain Tom didn’t catch Covid when he flew to Barbados with his family over Christmas. That’d be a bad look if he did.

Did he actually do this? Good on him if so.

Damn it .

How is that possibly good?

What’s good about breaking Covid rules to fly thousands of miles with family for a holiday, while people are dying of it? And then fucking dying of it?

Really genuine question. Let’s hear it.

Especially being a century old and being plastered all over the news

This is the first I’ve heard about his Barbados trip, looks like it wasn’t strictly against the rules unless I’m missing something but agree this probably isn’t the time.

I suppose he merely becomes a ‘complicated character’ now.

If he didn’t break the rules then I don’t see any problem. I say good on him because he’s 100 so wouldn’t have had many chances to enjoy holidays to Barbados with him family much longer.

Not the time to argue, that’s just my thoughts on it.

Seems like an absolutely deranged thing to drop into this thread, but there we go.

I’m out for a while.
