Covid

No vaccine has been brought out quicker. That doesn’t mean they haven’t done extensive trials. I’m just saying there are going to be side effects, surely.

Most drugs have side effects.

I had some bum hole cream that gave me a cracking headache about 30 seconds after applying it. Had to do that for 5 weeks.

What did you specialise in for your last two years, and then what did you focus on for your PhD? Just so we know where you’re coming from.

I mean, in fairness, there probably are side effects we don’t know about. Same with anything. No medicine is perfect.

The trouble with any argument on the internet at the moment is that there’s so much anecdotal evidence that laypeople try to use to prove causation. THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS.

Sorry to hear about your mate though.

I’m just saying that there are surely going to be side effects of a vaccine. I was actually working through the pandemic as an enrolled nurse in a hospital. I worked on a covid ward over the winter. This feels like a pile on. I’m just saying that I sympathize with people who have reservations about taking the vaccine. I’ve looked after very sick people with covid which is why it’s probably a good idea to take the vaccine. Especially if you have long-term conditions and comorbidities.

I wonder if there are actually any closet antivaxxers on here.

Yes there definitely will be. Warwick was a bellpiece but at least he admitted where he stood

That sounds like something an antivaxxer would say :thinking::thinking::thinking: quick, what shape is the planet??

Worth a listen, the actual people behind the science and vaccine/s

I wonder if there’s people who had both vaccines, who had a bad enough reaction to them that although this vaccine will protect them, it’s put them off having any relevant vaccines in the future?

And maybe that decision has been exacerbated by all this vax/anti vax discussion, whereas normally they’d just accept it was the nature of having a vaccine.

“But… but… that podcaster guy said something about some next level drugs, I’m definitely going to smash a few of those.”

We’ve all been dming for months, waiting for the signal

fucksake!
ha

Then what’s your point? I don’t get why people continue to raise this point after it’s been debunked

“This is the quickest vaccine development in history”

“Yes because it was being worked on by tens of thousands of people at once all over the world with near-infinite funding”

“Yeah but it was really QUICK”

You can’t debunk a fact. You can contradict that point as a supposedly valid reason to not take the vaccine but the speed of it is pretty clear.

You’re missing the point though, all other vaccines being delayed and crippled with red tape doesnt mean the one vaccine that has global attention is too fast.

Its the speed they could go if people cared about all vaccines for diseases that don’t affect rich white folk
