Dickies Honeymoon

Might as well make a separate thread.

Beware of spoilers.

  • where have I heard Manderson’s second song?
  • GF said Knox looked sad in or about his footage. Errr…?
  • Like the stitched credits

Half way through, might have to do it in 2 sittings as I want to watch Slow Horses.

First impression:

Really enjoyed Vincent’s part
Knox’s fs 180, fakie flip, switch shove line was a bit ropey tbh, maybe should have left that one out. Ender was gnarly though.
Really enjoyed Dylan Jaebs 180 fakie manual stuff, really nice to watch.
Hadn’t heard of Christian Henry before but thought he had done really good stuff, and the Turnstile song worked surprisingly well despite it being overplayed somewhat the past few years.

Heard the music and knew it was Dylan without looking. Also guessed his last trick.

Vincent’s last trick was bonkers.

Whoever thought guy would do another full part was tripping. Still good though.

Totally surprised and stoked on Christian Henry and Jake Hayes.

I really liked Jamie Foy’s front noseslide to fakie on the curved hubba.

Ah yes that was pretty special!

  • Manderson had the best section.
  • Vincent Alvarez did his thing, some rad stuff in his part.
  • Knox with the Mile End rollercoaster banger and some dope shit. Some questionable slo mo in his part though.
  • Christian Henry, meh.
  • Dylan Jaeb skating to Deadly Valentine didn’t work but he’s fucking sick and always seems stoked on landing his bangers which is great.
  • Frankie Spears seems horrible to have around you and his style is painful to watch.
  • Franky Villani doing his thing, he’s rad.
  • Big Boy Foy with the Big Boy Foy bangers, the fakie flip fakie front crooks was mental.
  • Oh and Ronnie Sandoval with a transition section that isn’t a vert button section. Frontside feeble backside revert at the SoMa park, so gnarly!
  • Jake Hayes is rad but his section is pretty forgettable.
  • The full Mariano section everybody wanted is definitely never happening.

Massive LOL at the Thanks to the skate shops and distributors around the world. We wouldn’t be here without your support. message in the credits. You sell millions of trousers in Walmart every day, 24/7, and never cared about skating when there was no money to be made, but thanks for the entertainment.

Has anyone ever thought ‘I want trousers like Jamie Foy’s’?

Those green ones? HAHAHA.

I reckon that little lazy man bun holds the secret to his skate ability.

found Tom Knox’s section pretty early on; anyone got a timestamp for Mariano footage?

First section. Not long.

Gutted.

Overall, liked the video. Christian Henry was my favourite section. Agree the Turnstile song is way overplayed but it is a banger. But everyone in this put together a solid section, which was great to see.

Wasn’t totally convinced by the Manderson section. Some great stuff in it but also some slightly average clips.

Mariano’s ride on smith flip around the curb was fantastic.

Really liked it all, some amazing, surprising skating in there from everybody, Really liked Manderson and sandoval had some eyebrow raisers. That Jake Hayes part was like watching Wainwright again

I had a good time.

Fuck it. I’ll be the first…

I found this video really boring. Music was pretty woeful throughout and the editing felt like it was from the late 2000’s. Manderson was cool, Frank Spears did hard tricks (even if he has absolutely no style) and Foy did some decent things but I won’t be watching it again.

Mash Life vid on Sat night was way more entertaining.

You think there’s a jaunty little rat in there that can skate?

The hubba got bondo’ed by a Mile End local. To tailslide it.
He waited a week between bondo’ing and going to skate it.
Showed up…got told Tom had tailslid it in a line an hour ago.
Poor dude.
Tom didn’t know. They are mates. It’s all 100% good. Just…don’t sleep on a spot when it’s right next to the skatepark all the heavies in the city love to skate.

Guy felt like Yeah, Right era which got me a bit excited but it really dropped off from there.
It’s a very classicly edited video - and felt like Propellor at points, too.
It was really noticeably not strobecked in terms of filming.
But yeah…I won’t watch it all again. Might peep Knox, Ronnie and Manderson. Maybe Frankie. But as an overall video is was just disjointed.
Foy madness was mad. Maybe I’d watch that again.
I can’t handle Frankie Spears rideouts. Stinking.

Did anyone else notice the editor had cut plenty of tricks in this fast right before the self-congratulatory ghost of Mako Urabe reared up? Or tees where whipped off?
That team needs to chill on that.
Or maybe they need to ask Knox to fall in line and chest beat a liitle?

Oh, and the audio was kinda fucked all the way through. Mad skate sound mix with music.
