Epicly Later'd

Yeah that’s so weird. Didn’t know he did this shit

He probably never has before but then will be editing the next Coppola film in '26.
Never does shit by halves, that one.

Equally he may never do it again.

Just watched and enjoyed it.
Dill is a pillock though. But he’s rich and I’m not so I guess I lose.

Always liked Ben Kadow. He feels a bit too ‘new’ or young for an EL but thats on me as he has been around a while.

Enjoyed the episode but I’m getting bored of seeing Bill Strobeck getting interviewed with his 90’s tv/VCR combo in the background - seems like some wired hipster shit to me. Also, I’m normally down for sticking up for Dill, but at this point he really is giving off 1980’s sex shop owner vibes.

Don’t make him sound cool!

Yeah he’s had nowhere near enough output to warrant one surely, it’s just angry looking 5050s in ill-fitting t shirts

Dill looks sick. He could play a supporting role in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The look is a1.

The actor from Kids seems a rate sap, why’s he in these things ?

Feel like this series relies on lots of the same talking heads. Eg. The FA/Hockey story has been done to death. Would have been good to hear from people more connected to the NY scene in the 2010s. I know he’s guarded/annxious, but this episode didn’t reveal a great deal about Kadow. Felt like it never really broke through the more superficial story about sponsor changes.

A1 Meats?

Anything like this, all the talking head stuff is done at once usually. So it’s easier if they overlap considerably.

I’d totally forgotten about him as a person and skate personality so…
Then again I have cared so little about skateboardings movements for a long time, i’m the matchbox in The Young Ones.

I will actually watch this as it’s unfair of me to lay anything on Mr Kadow, he’s potentially a good person, just not someone I find aesthetic. It’s more likely the people around him that are driving the hype around him.
Let the kid live and see what he comes up with first before giving him a legend spotlight.

Leo Fitzpatrick. He’s a pretty substantial figure in NYC and has been about the whole time part of the skate scene, ran a really good gallery in LES until last year or so called Public Access and a few others before it.

Fuck me these have got so stale. At this point you could just swap the intercut platitudes and superlatives from one week’s guest to the next and no-one would notice, they are so generic - ‘He’s the best’, ‘There is no-one like him’ and so on. It’s alot of talk without saying anything. It’s even more noticeable when skaters are still in the middle of their careers and there is even less to talk about. No journey or real personal/career arc to frame it around.
I also get the vibe that being from NYC somehow automatically makes you cooler in O’Dell’s eyes (no dig at NYC or its scene).

The upriver/downriver jibe was good. Hope it was real and not planted in there.

BA is the man.

What makes that even better is it likely would have been Kirchart who edited it that way

Absolutely. Maybe O’Dell just wants cool guys, hoping he’ll get more views.

I never cared much about Ben Kadow and I’ll admit that I like him more after watching this but fuck episodes about kids in their early 20s. Give me an episode about Quim Cardona, Bobby Puleo or Frank Gerwer.

If nothing else I learned that Quim Cardona isnt pronounced like Quim so thats positive
