Brownie ground through his truck so much while crooking the top of t-block that it snapped off
Wow, these could be very interesting!
so these are Spitfires copy of dragon wheels?
watching his video, hard to tell if its just the audio but the wheels certainly sound like dragon wheels (dull thud). if they sound/feel like them when you pop then i’m out.
Should have got Rocco in for the PR campaign: “Dragon Slayers!”
Spitfire brining out dragon like wheels so you don’t have to be seen riding Powell wheels in 2024
you know me so well. wouldn’t be caught dead with a dragon wheel
Looking to setup my New Deal monkey bomber deck as a slappy setup
Any recommendations on trucks and wheels?
Got thunder hollow light II lows here, they go great. Mind for anything with a tall kingpin like venture, think they will stick a bit more.
As for wheels, soft ones with rounded outside profile. Bones X formula 97a or Powell Dragons for those old knees
All down to personal preference really.
If you like Independent, go for 169s. Get Standards or Hollows so you have a higher truck (55 mm) which will make slappies easier to get into.
Can’t go wrong with Spitfire when it comes to wheels, I personally prefer the Classic shape as those big, wide, heavy wheels make no sense to me but each to their own. Formula 4, of course, maybe 54s, or try those new Reynolds 93A Soft Sliders if you feel adventurous, they’re apparently pretty good.
Venture didn’t do a wider truck when I was looking so I ended up with Indie 169’s.
According to some blurb, they cover 9 - 9.5 but I’m happy with how they fit on a 9.75.
They will probably last me for the rest of time.
Didn’t know about the 93A Reynolds very interesting
Check this out @Philbleasy.
Look cool do we know what sizes they are doing?
I just ordered some new wheels, and was alternating between a larger, harder wheel or a soft cruiser wheel (to ride into retirement on), and ended up going for the cheapest Spitfires I could find on sale.
Now I wish I hadn’t been so stingy as these look perfect

do we know what sizes they are doing?
The chap in the video has 54’s and mentioned some other sizes, but as a fan of 52’s I stopped listening when I heard they were doing those.
I’m gonna be putting some 52mm forumula 4s in the selling stuff thread this weekend which have had about 2 hours ride time.
52mm is too small for someone who doesn’t flip their board anymore, hence the upgrade to 55mm.
52mm F4 classics?
Think I’m torn between spitfire classics and lock ins as my wheel choice for my curb setup.
Feel maybe the lock ins are the way to go, similar shape on the outside as a classic but better at locking in
Anyone skated either or both of these wheels
I’ve skated both and lock ins are better for rough ground as the riding surface is wider. I didn’t notice a huge difference with locking in. Pretty sure Ben DeGros did a review. I’d choose 99a whichever you decide to get.
